This is actually the second time I stayed here but that was 10 years ago and only memory was the excellent location overlooking the harbour / Marina. The room was really a family room which meant was very big and very comfortable. The location with Marina side bars and restaurants was excellent. The Town centre is very close as is the historic old town and church. Lots of lovely looking restaurants close by but we ate in the Hotel. The food was excellent and as vegetarians we were amazed to see a 3 course set vegetarian meal -- but it was only in the german menu & not mentioned in the english. But it was very very good. Only downside is that no wifi although it said there was.

Great location, room and restaurant

Nice hotel close to the marina and also within walking distance of the city centre. Nice and comfortable rooms offering a good night's sleep. In the morning a good continental breakfast is being served in the bright dining room. Staff is very friendly and helpful and will do their best to make your stay as good as possible.

We stayd there four nights in July.
First the positive: As soon as we arrived, the man who worked there greeted us outside. He told us where to park the car, and allowd us to put it on the lawn just outside of the hotel. The restaurant was superb, we had our dinner there twise. Be aware, it is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.The rooms were average sized, clean and beds very comfortable. It was very quiet during the night. Breakfast was sufficient; three-four kinds of cheeses, three-four kinds of meats, jam, some vegetabledishes, cerial, youghurt, boiled eggs and juice. And of course different kinds of bread and coffee/tea. The location was very good; close to the cathedral and old town center, not far from the shopping area and very close to the fjord.

The negative: If you have problems with hot weather, you should know that this place has no aircon. We were prepared for that and heard that it was supposed to get very warm in Schleswig during the time of our stay. So we brought with us a table fan, which helped us through the night. However, we stayd the first night in a room where the window could only open a little bit due to the arrangement with the blinds, and it got sticky and uncomfortable. The next morning we asked if we could change to the room next door, as we saw it was free. The lady did not seem happy with the request, she said it would be a lot of work for her changing the bedlinen. Of course she would have to do that anyway if we would only stay there for one night, but we were not in the mood for an argument. So we said we we could do all the work ourselves, and then she gave in. She changed the beds for us herself however, and treated us in a very friendly manner afterwards.

Would we stay there again? If in the summer season, no. But in the cooler part of the year, probably yes.
