The Manoir lived up to our expectations in every way - and was even more impressive with its Christmas decorations. Fantastic breakfast, with selection of very fresh breads, pastries, eggs and homemade jams. Philippe kindly recommended several of his favourite local restaurants.

Fabulous, friendly B&B in wonderful building

Lovely chateau filled with tasteful antiques. Philippe is a very solicitous host and breakfasts were delightful! The grounds are beautifully maintained, quiet and private. Tourgéville is a great base for day trips to Honfleur, Fécamp and many WWI and WWII sites including the D Day beaches.

Peaceful and comfortable couple of nights in this property situated a 15 min drive from busy tourist area. 

We slept well and rooms were highly decorative, as was whole house. 

Continental breakfast of cheese, meat, breads and eggs was enjoyable. 

Our only recommendation would be the option of English Breakfast tea as well as Earl Grey but, we were in France so not an expectation. We had a few with us to make our breakfast even more enjoyable than it already was.

Garden  looks great and would provide comfortable rest area on warm days - with chickens and cat wandering around

Maison de Lions is exceptional. The house and grounds are simply beautiful. Our room, stunning. The bed was very comfortable and the shower…wow!  I’m not much of a breakfast person but Phillipe has changed my mind. His breakfast was delicious, meats, cheeses, homemade jams, fresh eggs, pastries to die for, freshly squeezed juice, hot chocolaut.

Best stay in a long while

Wonderful experience! With some longer stays, delicious dinners included. The breakfasts are wonderful and personalized. The hosts are so very pleasant, knowledable and accomodating. It was a great stay and an excellent value!!

Delightful Visit with Terrific Hosts

We were looking for something quirky for a short break in an area we know reasonably well. We thought the house looked beautiful and it was…. Full of antiques and quirky art. Our room was very large and comfortable and our bathroom was fab with a huge shower though neither would be suitable if you could not cope with stairs as there are only stairs to reach the upper bedrooms and stairs down into the bathroom from the bedroom which could be tricky at night if you were not careful. You would just have to be specific when you booked. Phillipe was a fabulous host and could not have been more helpful. There are a clutch of fancy chickens in the garden providing lovely fresh eggs for the plentiful and very tasty continental breakfast. I was even able to pick fresh raspberries from the garden to have with my yogurt. We loved our stay and cannot wait to return.

Little gem.

it is a place where you feel special, wonderful and royal. The owner was very nice and helpful. Breakfast very delicious, fresh baked baguettes, everything was great. We will definitely come back to this hotel. It was an honor for us to be a guest at this place, a shame it was just for one night. You want to stay here longer, stay here longer because it is a magical place.

A magical place

I feel so lucky to have found Manoir des Lions and Philippe. It was my first time traveling in the French countryside alone, I had my puppy with me, and I had a lot of specific things I hoped for (including green gardens, interesting places and lots of good sleep!  Plus of course a place my well behaved and hypo allergenic pup was welcome and at home) .  I spent a lot of time comparing to hotels, airbandb and other spots and now wish I had that time back and had gone with my first instinct that this spot was perfect!!

So here’s the key points for me (not in any particular order) 

1. Philippe the host - as other reviewers have pointed out, his service is extraordinary.   From my perspective and from that of my French friends who visited me here, what was really great was he struck that perfect balance of a host willing to help in any way - but not always wanting to chat with you and intruding.   Plus, as my schedule changed many times and I had lots of questions, he never made me feel like a pain (but I probably was!!). 

2. The rooms - so so comfortable.  Cozy but still very very spacious (usually cozy means cramped !).  The linens are luxurious, the windows with views of the garden at greenery and the bathroom a real treat.  Lots of nice touches like top of the line teas and a small fridge you can put your own things in (like cheese you find in pont l’évêque).   Small things make a difference too - like the honor bar with San Pellegrino and some snacks is not ridiculously priced .  Just makes everything easier ...

3. Location - literally 10 min from Deauville (and if you are feeling energetic, there is a walking/bike path nearby directly there - it’s marked as a 6 km walk).  Also less than 15 minutes to Trouville, Pont L’Eveque, Beaumont-en-Auge and many other picturesque villages of the region.

4.  The grounds - love the gardens.  So accessible - you feel like you are sitting in your own home .   And at night I slept so peacefully here - just what I needed! 


Perfect! Don’t waste time looking elsewhere and book this :)

Really charming place for staying.
We enjoyed our staying there. Our room was given on the last 3rd floor (not easy with luggage) BUT was very well done. We asked the room with 2 separated beds, but were given room with 2 bedrooms, which was unexpected nice surprise upgrade. 

Pluses:
1) Beds were very comfy, 
2) furniture luxury, beautiful, 
3) teapot and tea set of very high quality. 
4) Owner Philip seems is very details oriented, with great taste and loves beauty and comfort , tried to help with everything
5) Breakfast also was good in nice lux home style leaving area with big choice of everything including fried home style eggs
6)Garden — small, but we spent nice evening there with bottle of wine and some snacks, we were kindly provided  fancy glasses and plates. It is great when you can use garden like this
Minuses:
the only 1 — a bit noisy, near the road, you can hear cars , but there are ear plugs were provided, so there was the solution

Really charming place for staying.

We stayed here for one night but want to definitely come back to stay for longer!! The house looks beautiful from the outside with so many flowers and a gorgeous garden! It also has a spectacular, antique interior!! We stayed in the suite with two rooms and a magnificent bathroom!!! It is one-hundred-percent clean and tidy, so perfect to relax. It is at quite a busy road, but you do not hear much of the cars and I personally was not bothered by them. In the morning there is a delicious breakfast in the dining room which is definitely worth getting up for and the owners are super friendly and welcoming. If you are considering to go here, you definitely should!!
