The property sits across the road from the main river running through the area, and is larger that just about anything back home. At the back of the property are high cliffs with houses and more cut into them. It was interesting to get the history of these places and that people still lived there. The road outside is busy in patches but we had plenty of parking and it was easy to get out onto the road. The Tourist Office was just up the road which provided a great reference point to get information on the local area. We found Da Vinci's last home and a number of flea markets nearby The road is also home to a number of wine stores and brilliant restaurants, where we spent a chunk of time, service and food just dreamy. The property has large garden areas which we sat in and had dinner one night and just relaxed in. The variety of plants is stunning and the rose collection huge - note that the owner makes rose jam and other treats which you sample as part of breakfast and can buy to take with you. I had to get more funds out as partner bought plenty. Beds were comfortable and warm.There was room to move around in the rooms and showers were hot. We all had a pile of bags but still load of room in the units. Each unit opens onto the gardens but has a recessed entrance for privacy. Breakfast was served in the main room in the house and was excellent. Plenty of juice, coffee, tea, pastries and fruit. In fact even more than we could eat. The host and partner are proud of the place and it shows. We were able to spend time with them and also get to know their kids who were just full of beans. Ticked all the boxes and price was under what I had expected and very reasonable.. How to judge a place? - I felt welcomed, I was comfortable and I would definitely stay there again.

Try the rose jam and meet the family behind the home stayT

We were recently in this B & B. Apart from the kindness of the owner and his wife, it seems correct to point out that the room we had was below the minimum standard of decency required for the asking price. I saw B & B in France for the same price offered at least twice the service, if not more. In addition, the published photos not respect the structure that I found. Beyond the beautiful area in which it is located, the Loire, the stay was partially ruined from this structure. I hope to never again be structures as well!

Much smoke and little roast ..

It is always hard to review a bed and breakfast as it is certainly not luxurious but we thought the room was adequate and the location, and the hospitality of the hosts was really very good.    They maintain a beautiful garden and welcome you to sit and enjoy it.  The host was really friendly and gave us some fruit from his trees to try.  The room was fine and larger than usual - it actually had an extra bed in it - perhaps for a child.  The room was a bit stuffy.  The breakfast was very good - fresh orange juice, lovely pastries, good coffee.  It was a peaceful stay and we walked to a really good restaurant just down the block.

Bungalow in beautiful garden

We stayed over for 2 nights on our way up from the south of France . It is a delightful, unique place to stay .all rooms are individually designed and lead on to your own patio . (The owner said we were welcome to sit in his garden if we wanted to ) 
The breakfast is almost too good as it encourages you to eat far more than you need :) lovely fresh croissants, fresh bread and delicious home made jams . You can buy his home made jams but he gave us a jar as a present as he didn't take cards and we had to go to cash machine to get money out .
It's ideally located for cycling along the Loire . I would highly recommend a visit 

Hidden gem 

We stayed just one night but what an Aladdin's Cave, full of wonderful antiques. Jean- Jacques showed us all. He was so hospitable & interesting. Also made all his jams which I bought a jar of nettle jam, his own recipe! He gave my husband some marmalade! Our bedroom was extremely comfortable & decorated in a style with a large coat of arms over the bed, that made me think I was of royal blood!! I was also very impressed as I had left a piece of jewelry behind & he came up to the park where I was to find me.
Would definitely stay there again.
