Really top quality good value hotel, very helpful friendly staff, huge room, secure parking, delicious dinner. Langres is a pretty town and  also ideal as s stopover.  Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Excellent and very good value

This is the first time we have visite this hotel under its new ownership but have been coming here for many years. 
We were delighted to find it had not changed. It is as good as ever and many of the old staff are still there.  
The rooms are comfortable and well appointed and the restaurant is particularly good.  The hotel is dog friendly and there is secure parking.

Return visit after approx 30 years. Comfortable room although second floor. Pleasant food. Friendly staff. The car was parked for us which I’m sure was easier than struggling !probably would return as I think I preferred it before but maybe memory playing tricks!

Nice hotel

We have stayed here several times as it is a convenient half way between Provence and Calais.  The rooms are basic but more than adequate.  The restaurant is excellent, with an expensive but good selection of Burgundies.  Good place for a last night blowout!   And the town is really interesting, with a Roman arch and later fortifications and a surprisingly impressive cathedral.  Most mornings it seems to float over a mist in the Marne valley below.

The only minor quibble is that the Wifi is pretty tempramental.

Great little hotel with an excellent restaurant

We broke down on the way to the south of France. We stubbled into Langres and found Le Cheval Blanc by chance. The staff have been welcoming and helpful throughout. The hotel has beautiful family room and breakfast was amazing.

Amazing service, above and beyond service

The management and staff are warm and welcoming. The restaurant is of an exceptional standard consistently and the rooms are delightful. We stop here whenever we are travelling through France. The valet parking is an added bonus.

A wonderful stay as always

The owners of this place are exceptional in their warmth and efficiency. This is not a luxury hotel, but it is comfortable, central, quiet and the service is outstanding whether for drinks on their charming outside terrace or dinner in their perfectly good  restaurant. A very good place for an overnight stop.

Excellent hôtel with superb management

We had a room in the annexe across the street. The rooms are a bit small, but the bed and pillows were Ok. In the first room we had the plug was stuck in the sink, so we got another one. The receptionist was very nice and handled it well. Then, the WiFi did not work. The bathroom was small but functional.

Breakfast was disappointing after the excellent dinner (see my other review of the restaurant). No hot food, and not much choice of cold. The bread and pastries were good.

The hotel needs to do a bit better to bring it to the standard of the restaurant!

Not as good as the restaurant

An excellent little hotel in the ancient, walled city of Langres. Our room was very well appointed, with a comfortable bed and clean en-suite bathroom. The big advantage of this hotel is its fine restaurant, serving very good cuisine at a reasonable price. We enjoyed a delicious morel mushroom soup and the Sole one night, and foie gras and lamb with fruit and artichokes another. The wine list is good and accessible; the staff helpful and pleasant.

A fine old hotel with high standards

A gem of a hotel within this fascinating old town. Great team of staff, clean and comfortable rooms, superb restaurant and a great breakfast.  Recommend the garage at 7 euros in case no parking outside the hotel
