The restaurant has NO concept of customer service. We arrived by boat at 2pm and tried to eat. They said it was too late. We asked what time they reopened and they said 7pm. We returned at that time. They had only a few of their tables set up for dinner customers, but they said we couldn't eat because we didn't have reservations. Earlier NONE of the staff we talked to said that we would need reservations. In fact, they giggled and laughed at us. At this time the food stores were closed and we went without. We will never return to Decize.

Hotel restaurant staff are useless

Nice hotel in the town of Decize with alot to do if you are a nature lover.easy to get to with public transportation, train and busses available from Paris. The Loire river just a walking distance, as well as the canal. Great for boating or kayaking activities.

Fantastic location

We stayed in one of the little gite houses.  Clean, comfortable, very relaxing.  It was last minute and 90 euros for 2 with breakfast.  I think we could have had 2 kids with us for the same price, there was a small room with bunk beds.  Kitchenette, small balcony nice view.  

The setting is in a marina on the canal with the best river views just behind.

The hotel was perfect for our recent trip to Decize. Everyone who worked there was so professional and accommodating. A special thank you to Pauline for all of her help. 
We enjoyed the food at the restaurant very much. The close proximity to the super market, lovely town and walking canals was  wonderful. It was a great hotel for our group.


Wonderful

This is a modern hotel built for brief, rather than lengthy, stays and as such does the job at a reasonable price. I had a compact, but clean room overlooking the marina. It is located outside of the town of Decize, a short walk from an Intermarche. I was on a cycling tour - bikes are stored securely in a specific store shed. I also used the laundry facilities, which were good, if expensive @€10. The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful. There is a €1 charge for WiFi. I had dinner on the terrace in the restaurant below, on a very warm evening, which was fine. Overall, it was a convenient stay - did the job.

Basic, in nice location

We were recommended this restaurant by a local French lady who sang its praises.
As a previous review mentions, the menu is in French which did not bother us.
However, the waitresses were most unhelpful. They did not ask us if we would like wine with our meal or if we wanted dessert or coffee after the main course. They just didn't seem to care.
We had to enquire about the plat de jour as this menu wasn't advertised so we didn't know what the choice was. As it turned out there was only one main dish if fish.
I was given only one serviette for my seafood menu and ended up covered in prawn juice. Another serviette would have been appreciated.
Would not eat here again because of unfriendly staff.

Restaurant review for Hotel du Port

The rooms are above the restaurant at this marina. The marina is beautifully kept and is very peaceful. Bikes are stored in locked room further down the marina. The room has bars to which you can lock the bikes. Wifi was an extra charge. The room was clean but had a smell of fly spray and a number of flies appeared during our stay. Non biting but ... Breakfast was continental in the restaurant below
