I stayed two nights at the beginning of September and first of all it was very easy to find from the train station and upon entering the staff at reception were very friendly and courteous. 
I was in a room for two which wasn't large but I was only sleeping there.
The breakfast is my only complaint: one had to heat the water in a cup in a micro wave oven then add instant coffee!
Come on folks this is France, you can do better.
Other than that it was good value for the money.

Clean & Comfortable

The position is just great, by the arenes in the very center! I was very lucky to get a good room maybe , in the detached part of the hostel (as a see that current comments are not great)... but the room was confortable and clean! Also toilets and common area were very good! Breakfast was simple but  very healthy. Maybe just the checkin people attitude should change, in the sense that they handle the hotel next door..then I had the impression that people going to the hostel are not their priority...Apart that, all fine!

My "L'Auberge du Pelerin et du Voyageur" (Arles) Experience

This place is a classic hostel in the sense its what a hostel is supposed to be. Its a bed, bathroom, and kitchen. And thats it. Its very basic. Beds are comfy enough. Rooms are small and the bathrooms clean. Feel this is maybe a work in progress. Free breakfast was some bread and jam/butter. Good enough for the French so who are we to complain. The location of this place is fantastic though. If you want something abit more glam...book a hotel.

Classic Hostel. Basic

location was very good being right next to the amphitheatre.
excellent kitchen and good shower facilities. 
beds weren't the comfiest IMO but were better than other places i stayed. 
wifi was okay.
However, the images of the place on the budgetplace.com website were far from what we had as the images showed a more luxurious accommodation to what we had.

decent enough

This hostel is located in a lovely old building round the corner from the Roman ampitheatre. I went in early September and although the hostel was fully booked it is a very peaceful area.
Fresh baguette delivered every morning to the kitchen is a nice touch, the only thing I would have liked is lockers for valuables and air con.
