If you’re here as part of an Egyptian tour (eg. Intrepid), ask your guide to speak to Reception to move you to a non-smoking room, if they do indeed exist. According to trip advisor they do but I’m doubtful. I asked to move room due to the stench of smoke in the room. I’m more sensitive to second-hand smoke than most, so I took my inhaler down to help with my case. I was told i can go to the room balcony. 

Blasted the air con and left the door open which helped with the smell. But the pillow still stank so had to cover it with my own clothes. 

Had a few hours to wait until our tour left the hotel. Tried the lobby for the air conditioning but got stuck breathing in other guests second-hand smoke. Tried the pool area but the only smoke free area was in 40+ degree heat. 

The breakfast packs provided by the hotel were three different types of stale bread wrapped in polystyrene and plastic and an old apple. 

Food and drinks we ordered were good, and some of the restaurant staff were nice. They were the only redeeming factor. 

If you’re a smoker, this place is probably fine. 

If you’re not a smoker - don’t go. 

We came to this hotel as part of a tour. My main complaint about this hotel is that they allow smoking everywhere, or they don't police it so you cant enjoy being there if you are a non smoker, my partner who has allergies could not escape it. The staff will barely serve you at any location throughout the hotel either - you must go up and ask. Not a problem but most hotels have better service than this. Mostly the building is run down, the pool is nice but the people trying to sell massages will harass you constantly even when you say no thank you.

Our room stunk so badly of smoke and they would not move our room. We also discovered late at night that the balcony door did not shut, letting in hot air and noise. Our actual room was clean but you could barely navigate past all of the furniture. Overall this place is awful and I could not recommend it.

Give it a miss.

Location is very good, easy to get to all amenities 
Hotel badly in need of refurbishment and some painting was being done leaving an overwhelming odour throughout. 
Rooms were clean enough and staff were friendly, alarmed that most fire doors were propped open
Breakfast was very average with many of the components being left in their dishes overnight 
The rooftop pool looked very inviting and there was a great view from there

Just ok

This hotel was simple and dated but nevertheless totally adequate for a budget tour; very central and easy to find.  I was perhaps lucky with a single-use room, but it was absolutely fine with loo paper and hot water in the bathroom, and great balcony -- yes you could see your neighbours, and so what? -- overlooking the temples and the Nile.  Breakfast inauspicious but adequate, fresh omelette and plenty of tea/coffee.  No problems with reception -- key worked intermittently but always someone around to assist if needed.  Should mention we had a great tour guide to help out if any problems, but really no problems.  

Central, old, just fine

Slightly down at heel hotel in a great location. Stayed here as part of a group tour. Had a room on a higher floor with a spectacular view of the temple and Nile. Also a view of the comings and goings of Luxor; yes it is noisey but I love the craziness of it! Abroad is different! In all honesty with balcony door shut I could not hear the street. The room was a good size and decorated to a dated standard but it was clean. Bathroom functional, shower over bath. Plenty of hot water. Getting into the room was a challenge but having watched the cleaner wiggle the card key a few times I soon picked up the technique! On the roof there is a pool and some slightly broken sunbeds (mattresses available). You can also eat on the roof and get drinks if waiting staff are available. Food was acceptable; pizza, burger, omlette etc for lunch. WiFi worked everywhere in hotel. We were heading out early for the Valley of the Kings do had a breakfast box; standard Egyptian breakfast - bread, boiled egg, jam, cheese triangle etc. Staff in the hotel tried really hard to be helpful. On one occasion a member of staff nipped to a shop for us.  Service could be a bit haphazard though. When ordering a beer in the downstairs lobby bar there was no bottle opener and the barman had to be stopped from opening it with other implements while waiting for someone to bring an opener from the rooftop bar!! (Reminding myself this is a Muslim country in Ramadan and that it is quite funny really!). This hotel's best asset is its location. You can walk to the souk, Nile, temple, shops, banks really easily.

Tired colonial glamour in a great location

since there was no bigger room when I book this hotel  online, so we got a small, cramped room full of 3 single beds. there is almost no space for standing. all the amenities are so old and poor, the sink leaking,  TV is the type that you can only find 20 yrs ago (or even more than 30). and the biggest issue is , its very noisy becoz always someone honking on this busy  bustling street all day all night, you can't even get a nice sleep!
the only advantage is the stunning view on rooftop terrace,you can enjoy   Nile river view and looking down the great luxor temple very clearly, it was so fantastic especially at night .
BUT!! keep in mind that the room guests can not have breakfast on roof top unless pay extra fee to dine on the poolside bar.( breakfast buffet is behind the reception on ground floor)  but you can go up  sitting there and take pics .

very old hotel

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in December. My first impression of the hotel was that it was very dark, damp, old and felt somewhat abandoned. Yet, there is an unusual eeriness to the hotel that, in an ironic way, gives it some kind of character, perhaps even charm. I don't have much to say about the service because it was just basic but when my bed was made on my second day, I was surprised with a lovely towel swan :) and a rose. I did have two really comfortable sleeps in this hotel despite feeling a bit uneasy while staying there. Breakfast looked very unappealing and almost unsuitable for people so I avoided it and ate outside the hotel. The location is probably the best part of the hotel. I can't exactly recommend this place nor would I stay there again.

Interesting

Hotel is well located, but it has only WiFi at lobby and no a/c.  Beds are comfortable but the bathroom is kind of dirty and the toilet didn’t work properly.  Make sure to ask for the a/c control otherwise it can get really hot. Staff can speak English a bit.  

Nice beds but dirty bathrooms

Booked in here with our Intrepid Group - not impressed. Ours was a small cramped room. Bed was fine but of course noise levels are high. Lunch in the hotel was terrible whereas breakfast was not too bad. Cleaning staff need to learn their trade as it is poorly done on all counts. Stairwells are dirty, poorly lit and even blocked with carpeting at times. Toilet paper is NOT toilet paper - but it pretends to be (bring your own). Internet worked sporadically.

Not my Choice But . . .

Balcony didn’t lock meaning room was not secure 
Couldn’t get into our room without getting someone to let us in with the master key. Went down so many times saying our key wouldn’t work they would claim it was fixed but it wasn’t. 

I was worried with the noise I wouldn’t sleep but luckily I did
