We booked a suite with two bedrooms for two nights. When we got their the manager told us that her employees booked the suite we had reserved a few nights before through air bnb but that she had two rooms available. We looked at the rooms and one of the rooms had four beds in it in the basement. It smelled of mold and dust. When asked if we could stay in our original suite she said no bc it was already rented out. We reserved this place back in July and they decided to rent it to other for the same dates a few days earlier. We ended up not staying in their moldy basement and found a much better place. Would never reserve anything here again.

They don’t honor your reservation

Maremonti is located up hill which not only gives the place an excellent view but also a calm environment. Marianela (the host) was very helpful and kind. Also, breakfast was really good as they serve fresh fruit, omelette, good coffee and bread 👌🏽

Excellent host and view

… and breakfast with a view. These are the main advantages of this B&B. Marianella is too, she is a very fine host. The place is not cheap, but the room was comfortable and sufficiently large. Beware that you are about 20 min outside town, which has both advantages and disadvantages. If you like a walk after diner, this is the perfect place. If you don’t, you can get a mototaxi.
TIP 1: Get in the mototaxi and have him start driving before you say where you want to go. Some drive off if you mention Maremonti beforehand because they don’t want to drive up the hill.
TIP 2: Don’t let them overcharge you. Don’t ask how much it is but pay yourself. If it’s closeby 50 cents will do. I never had a driver say  that it was not sufficient. If it’s a bit farther, USD 1 is the fare.

Peaceful room with a view …

Beautiful location overlooking the sea. Peace and quite. Walking distance to the small town of puerto Lopez. Close to the bus terminal. The warmest welcome by the best host. Super friendly. A lot of privacy. Absolutely recommend Maremonti.

My wife and I came to South America for our 1 year anniversary and stayed in Puerto Lopez for two nights. We couldn't have been happier with our choice to stay at Maremonti. Marianella is the sweetest lady that will bend over backwards to ensure that her guests are enjoying their stay. The "room" was actually the entire bottom floor of the building, and was very clean and had plenty of privacy. There was a patio with a hammock outside that had an incredible ocean view. Breakfasts were delicious and freshly made every morning by Marianella. She gave us excellent recommendations for food and activities, and would always arrange for a tuk-tuk to pick us up and take us into town whenever we needed. Highly recommend the short taxi ride up to Playa de Los Frailes, the most beautiful and serene beach we have ever been to. Thank you and your husband for being so accommodating Marianella! We will be back!
