This is our second visit to this pension this year. Our first visit, in May, we had a small, but nice aparment, number 11. Apart from finding a quantity of broken glass on the floor under the bed, it was adequate for the price. Tonight, however, after a long drive, we arrived to find that despite requesting and paying for a similar apartment as before (we were offered, and accepted number 15) we had been put in a very nasty, smelly apartment in an old building, with much less space, and the kitchen actually IN the bedroom.(number 4) We reluctantly agreed to stay for one night in this room, but resolved to take the issue up with the management in the morning. We headed down to the restaurant. We had phoned ahead and been told the kitchen closed at 10pm. It was now 9pm. We were told we could only have pizza as the kitchen was closed. So we ordered pizza. We asked for one glass of wine and two beers, and 3 glasses of tap water. We were told they don't serve tap water, only expensive bottled water in tiny bottles. We were all thirsty after a long drive from Vienna and needed water. We were repeatedly refused in the rudest manner imaginable. I suggested that if they serve alcohol, surely they should also serve water, but both the unbelievably rude waiter and the surly waitress refused point blank. Furthermore, the second we finished pur pizzas, the rude waiter, whose name was Daniel, arrived with our bill, and the card machine, despite my intention to pay cash. No offer of desert, coffee or anything else. I declined to pay until I been served a glass of water. The waitress then phoned the police. I can only presume they told her to serve us water,as is our human right. They certainly didn't turn up. This place should be shut down. I cannot stress strongly enough how rudely and disrespectfully and aggressively 
we have been treated, and I hope we shall be able to move to a different hotel tomorrow and demand a refund. They are a disgrace to their country. We visit Olomouc 3 times a year, as our grandchildren live here, and this has been a very upsetting start to our precious family weekend.

We already stayed here before and were happy to return as the services are great. We were a group of 13 people. Acommodation is really nice, would pass as a hotel, with en suite bathrooms. They prepared breakfast just for us based on our  needs and also based on our time preference. Dinner was “a la carte”. Prices are really suitable. 
If we are ever back, I am sure, we will want to stay here again. Highly recommend.

Sports competition

We stayed in the flat for two nights and were very pleased! Excellent lay-out, very clean, good airco, breakfast in the flat.. The breakfast menu offered a lot of choice, very friendly staff (Thanks, Petr!). We had dinner twice in the restaurant and found the Italian dishes of a very high standard, very nice! So, to resume: very good value for money, 5*, we would certainly come back!

The name of the restaurant is "taverna u pece" They have a Italian food. Such as pasta and pizzas. I always had only a pizzas. Pizza has  thin dough and all ingrediences are almost fresh. Of course depends on seasons. No issues at all. Good choice for speedily and tasty pizza ! Enjoy It!

Background: Myself and two friends were in the Czech Republic for the European Under 21 football tournament and stopped in Olomouc for 5 nights as that is where England were based. 

Location: The hotel was actually a little out of the town and we were a bit worried that we were 'in the middle of knowhere' but the public transport is excellent and a short bus ride (about 5 stops) and we were right in the middle of town and a taxi back late at night for about £3 was easy. 

Hotel: couldn't fault it. We had a very large suite on the top floor 1 double bed, 2 single beds, fully fitted kitchen and dining area, large lounge area and TV. All very well appointed and finished to a very high standard. Bathroom was great.
Hotel had brilliant Italian restaurant / bar on the ground floor. VERY cheap and great food.
There is a little shop just down the road and we found it better to buy bread / eggs etc and make our own breakfast in the kitchen. 

Olomouc: what a lovely city... Great main square with loads of restaurants and bars around the edge, lots of history / museums / churches etc to look at. I SWEAR not a drop of litter in the whole city, it really is nice place to visit. 

Getting There: we travelled there from Prague by train 'Leo Express' approx 2 1/2 hours from Prague. Outbound we went 'business class' approx £15 (bit like first class on Virgin trains) on the return leg we booked 'premium class' approx £18... OMG big reclining seats (like first class on a plane) 3 course meal, free drinks etc etc. NO contest - premium class all the way!!!
