No license to operate my party was cancelled by the police. Used to be a hotel but now it operates clandestine. Old place and lack of maintenance . Costa Rica has much better places to visit or to celebrate a special day. I can't recommend this place to anyone.

Terrible and expensive experience

This place is a scam. 
It performs all sorts of parties without permit or licenses. 
My party was cancelled on the same day by the police. Do not book a party at this place as Hou will lose your deposit.

A Scam!

I have been treated well the two times that I have stayed in this hotel.  Wonderful grounds and was even graced with a play one of the evenings.  Great views over part of Santa Ana and a wonderful pool.

Off the old road and worth the effort.

We booked at the Ringle Resort needing a place to stay after a long flight, and before heading down the coast the next day, as well as on the way home.  I agree with others that the view of San Jose is spectacular--once you find the place.  Our printed directions from Google Maps were useless.  Street signs are limited in San Jose, so if you take one wrong turn, it is extremely difficult to find your way back.  You're best to save the itinerary on your phone, and listen to the directions.  Even the sign for the hotel at street level is tiny.  It is so easy to miss, that staff at hotels nearby had no idea where it was when we stopped for directions.

While we had written confirmation of our reservation, they claimed they had no record of us booking.  Fortunately, there were still rooms available.  The place is pretty quiet, except for the dogs next door who bark A LOT at night, meaning sleep can be limited depending on where you are staying on the property.

We ate at the hotel's restaurant the night of our arrival.  The food was OK thanks to a visiting chef from Colombia.  This was not the case two weeks later when our meal was horrible and expensive.  (Our breakfasts on the terrace were nice though.)  So if you are not a light sleeper and still want to stay there, make sure to look up other evening dining options.

Finally, we found the personnel to be somewhat aloof as compared to other Ticos we encountered during our trip, so if ever we have the good fortune to return to this beautiful country we'll be booking other accommodation.

Difficult to find; sub-par food

Comfortable, clean, quiet accommodations. Good quality wifi, was a great place to plan the rest of our trip from. Good breakfast, fruit, yogurt, coffee cake, juice, coffee, it would be nice if there was a bit more variation in breakfast from day to day. Marco was helpful with lots of tourist information. From what we read we had thought Escazu had more to offer and that the hotel was a bit closer to restaurants and shops. Though we're happy we stayed outside San Jose, and it was easy to take the bus into Escazu and San Jose. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel, it was quite good.

Quiet hotel in Escazu

Ringle is a quiet hotel perched on a hill overlooking San Jose offering a great view! The grounds surrounding the property are extremely well maintained and have tropical flowers, trees and birds, providing a very relaxing atmosphere. 
Nice looking and very clean room/bathroom, TV, A/C, free wi-fi, pool, terrace, library, room service between certain hours, available basic but tasty dinner on premises. 
Breakfast was included in price - fresh fruits, yogurt, freshly brewed Costa Rican coffee, orange juice, pastries, toast with butter and preserve. 
Outstanding staff, very helpful with planning trips, getting transportation, etc. 
Excellent restaurants nearby - Machu Pichu was our favorite (Peruvian fusion cuisine). Airport transfer available for a fee.

Excellent hotel in Escazu!

Ringle is a quiet hotel perched on a hill overlooking San Jose - an amazing view! The grounds surrounding the property are extremely well maintained and full of tropical flowers, trees and birds, providing a very relaxing atmosphere. We booked the deluxe room but have been upgraded to a suite (a bedroom w/ 1 king bed and a living room); the living room had wide windows to allow us to absorb the view. Very clean room/bathroom, well-maintained building, TV, A/C, free wi-fi, pool, terrace, library, room service between certain hours, available dinner on premises. Breakfast was included in price - fresh fruits, yogurt, freshly brewed Costa Rican coffee, pastries, toast with butter and preserve. The staff went beyond the call of duty to make sure our stay there was outstanding. Close to excellent restaurants. Airport transfer available for a fee.
