Lovely place to stay. Comfortable and stylish. Beautiful garden too. Well located for all the local attractions.

The bungalows are so charming and spread out. Breakfast options were nice. Beach is right across the street. Indian restaurant is tasty with vegetarian options. The only note is there is no air and it is hot and rather humid. For me from Florida it was fine and pleasant with ceiling fans but if you like it cold be aware.

La Costa de Papito was the perfect choice for lodging for us! The grounds are lovely - tidy and well maintained with various walkways going to the individual bungalows. It feels very private and peaceful. We stayed in a two BR bungalow which has a private common area  in front (outside) and each BR has it’s own door. The bathroom is a separate door off the common area/porch, and was quite spacious. 

The bedrooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. When I read about the mosquito nets around the beds, I was a bit apprehensive thinking that I’d be getting attacked by mosquitoes all night, but did not even see one! 

And while outside was very hot and humid, surprisingly sleeping was not an issue. There are enough fans in the rooms, both ceiling and standing ones, to keep it comfortable. That said, if you do not like  white noise when you sleep, this could be an issue for you, as I wouldn’t want to try to sleep without the fans on! 

 Breakfast was good and we liked the variety of choices offered. I  loved the pitcher of fresh juice served each morning…. A different juice each day:) 

The staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful! 

All in all a wonderful experience for us! I would definitely recommend staying here!

La Costa de Papito welcomed us in a friendly and pleasant way. 

The bungalow we stayed at (number 1) was way above expectations.
Rustic, cosy, comfortable: it had all we needed in a style that fitted the surrounding environment. Very nice also the patio area.

Personnel at the reception and at breakfast was helpful and accommodating.
Breakfast is made on the spot, so fresh and very good quality (there are 5 menu options to choose from).

We loved our 2 days stay in La Casa de Papito. The bungalow had everything that we needed to feel comfy: nice bathroom, comfy beds with mosquito nests, little but spacious fridge, power outlets next to the beds, nice table and hammock outside to hang out. The bungalows feel very private as they are not too close to each other, the grounds are beautiful with lush plants all around - you feel like you are in the middle od the jungle. The birds will wake you up early in the morning, so if you mind, use earplugs. 
The location is great, not very far from Puerto Viejo (3,000.00 crc/5 usd by tuktuk to get to the center), just across the road from Cocles Beach and a few great places to eat are just few minutes away by walking.
Would totally reccommend this place!

PUERTO VIEJO has a variety of charms. LA COSTA DEL PAPITO hotel is one of them. The region has a great mix of nature, animals, beaches, sunsets and sub-marine life. But also has many restaurants, animal variety, and ‘normal’ and ‘ab-normal’ people depending on your definition of abnormality. 

It looks as if time had stopped there and people from every walk of life decided to go and to stay there - forever. Very interesting, - if any thing.  

Amazing geology- for example, a  dark beach corner has volcanic magnetic metallic  sand whose energy can be measured through metal detectors. It is sort of strange. . . 

A great and safe place to visit and to experiment life in nature.  The hotel at LA CASA DEL PAPITO  is charming, even if it has a really corny name (mind you, I did meet the papito of whom the house belongs to and is a historic event-related name). 

The place has trees, foliage, nature and insects, statues,  open wooden bungalows, closeness to the sea, tropical forest with wild animals. Good food and a lovely Indian restaurant ( of all options). 

Within a 10 minutes close by distance, there is a remarkable Italian restaurant aligning with any in Rome or Florence ! (LA PÉCORA NERA RISTORANTE- remarkable!). His leader is a visionary teacher of local youth to become the cream of the cream in restaurarion over there.  Just wonderful to see how they do it. 

Clean breathing air, lovely light, nature. Animals, pool table, music, all sort of drinks …
…( this wonderful Young Chap from the UK /Israel managing the bar, amusing the crowd brilliantly as his parents ended up retiring there - and he found his way to align and enjoy by being a great guy making everyone’s moment special! :). … 
Nature, exercise, photographic opportunities, snorkelling moments, massage parlour and maybe a spell of reggae and bits. 

Well, definitely in my list of places to be glad to have visited. Beside the visionary chocolate place, the jaguar recovery place, the sloth recovery place and others, this is great to visit.

The staff was unbelievable!!!!!!  Marva, Javier, the young lady behind the desk!  They bend over backwards like no other resort I’ve stayed at!!!!!

Upon arrival I was greeted by Minerva at the front desk who was extremely welcoming. After letting us know all the important information about the premises and their services we were treated to a wonderful welcome cocktail. Breakfast was included and was terrific! The coffee was great as well. This is my second time staying at La Costa de Papito and I will definitely be back!Keep it up!
