Great local about 20 min walk or easy to catch the bus into town. We had a room with a private bath but shared kitchen.  The hosts are awesome!! I met people from around the world, has an awesome patio to watch the sunset.  Beds were comfortable and the room had ac. Guests were quiet by 10 or 11.  You'll need a taxi at night if planning to go into town but it's pretty cheap. 

Fun Comfy Stay

We arrived at the hostel early in the morning, completely soaked because of heavy rain. Lucia welcomed us with towels and coffee and we could drop our bags in one of the rooms that was already empty. We immediately felt at home !
The rooms are clean and I loved the architecture of the house. There are plenty of little units and kitchens, which gives a very cosy atmosphere. 
The only less good point : the hostel is located on the west side of the Island, with few/no restaurants, bars, stores around. It makes a bus/taxi/walk to the city or to some place where there's something to do. On the upside : it's quite :)
Unfortuately, we could only stay for 1 night.

Great stay at home !

I stayed one night on the way to Providencia and it was great. Not in the busy loud center but close to the airport and to center. The owner is really nice, upon arrival with taxi driver getting lost (get the direction of the hotel before you get there since not all drivers know the place and they do not use street numbers) and frustrated, I was greeted by a glass of fresh juice.  When I wanted to go to town, the owners son drove me on his motorbike.  And when I was leaving to the airport the husband took me on his golf buggy.  The room is simple but clean and the shared bathroom was also not a problem.  It is much nicer than staying in busy centro and they make the place very warm and welcoming. 

Helpful staff and nice place

I’ve been there with a friend for 3 nights.

The owner, Luz, is a amazing person, very kind and helpful. Also her son.

When we arrived there, we were a little afraid because of the location - the neighborhood is far from downtown and not very friendly.

However, Luz received us very well, with lemonade, and made us feel at home. She had taxi and guides contacts and gave us a lot of informations about the island. The rooms are nice and clean. 

The property is not far from bus stop, where you can catch a bus for every place in town. However, if you try to catch a taxi to Rock House it is possible that the taxi driver does not accept to leave you there, due to the street where Rock house is located, which is not very nice, with many hole. But it’s not impossible, you can always negociate with the driver to leave you in a near street. 

In a nutshell: We were VERY WELL received and the accommodations are nice, but the location of the hotel was a NEGATIVE point, since we depended on bus and taxis to go everywhere - supermarkets, stores, restaurants, etc. We recommend the Rock House hostel for couples and groups. As we were two girls travelling, we felt a little bit insecure walking alone at the neighborhood, because men usually flerted with us in a inappropriate way.

Warmful place, but far from downtown

We only spent one night on our way from Providencia to Bogota, as its proximity to the airport is good.  There is a nice little kitchen/dining area as well as indoor & outdoor sitting areas that I think we would have used had it been a longer stay.  It is a bit of a walk to the town area, about 2 k. (1/2 hr or so) it's located on a quiet deadend street.  The owners are very nice and helpful. We had the large room with private bath, the king size bed one of the more comfortable we've slept on in Colombia. It took a bit for the a/c to cool the room as there are areas open to the outside ( an energy waste) numerous nails from the nice wood ceiling are sticking through, it's just a bit tired, but fairly clean. The price is also fair.
