The house has everything you need to rest, excellent facilities, very close to the beach, the center, restaurants, beach bars. You can go out to eat or cook if you want. The attention is very friendly. I would definitely recommend it.

A wonderful option.

The Islander House Hotel is located in San Luis, about 15 minutes by taxi from Gustavo Rojas Pinilla International Airport. You can also make your transfers by bus that passes in front of the hotel and leaves you in the center or if you are really an adventurer you can take a motorbike that brings you adrenaline and offers you another perspective on the trip. When you rent the Islander House Hotel you should be aware that it is a beautiful and lovely house on the sea shore. You should also know that the Islander offers three different types of rooms. The third floor is a spacious and spacious room that gives a spectacular view of the sea, has the sea breeze to cool your room and can help you get in touch with the elements that you enjoy on the second floor.

The ideal place to get in touch with the elements.

I originally booked for three nights but we ran away after the second day!! This accommodation was just my worst experience according the price.
The bedroom really needs a refreshing or at least a good cleaning.
The supposed private “dirty” bathroom is on another floor with the door that doesn’t even close, but the worst of all is that during your shower the water would stop flowing and had to wait few minutes for it to flow back...
And when asked if we could pay only the two nights we occupied the room the owner replied “you booked 3 nights you pay 3 nights!!

Disappointing

Located in a wonderful place on the Island of San Andrés, the Islander House is not what it seems, It is a beautiful house that its owners do not invest in maintaining, the kitchen drain in a year ago according to Booking reviews, remains the same! every three dishes that you wash have to draw the water out, cumbersome, who receives you before showing you the room, tells you that...you have to pay already....no toilet paper followed.....do not spend too much water....do not make noises and many others no!!

It's not what it looks like, although the location is unbeatable.

This house looks nice from the outside, but it is not a place you should stay in San Andres. The room was not clean, there was a lot of spiders, mosquitoes and other bugs. The shower / toilet had a lot of bugs as well. On the property there was a lot of animals, including cats that had cleary visible scars and lice, and these cats loved to jump into the bed. Not healthy at all. 
The breakfast was one arepa and one glass of juice, and nothing more. The landlord stands at the and of the table and stares at you when you eat. 
There is no a/c in the room, and if you do not know, a/c is very important here because it keeps the yellow fever mosquito away. This mosquito spreads dengue fever, chikungunya, Zika fever, Mayaro and yellow fever. There was several of these mosquitoes in our room, and because there was 30-40 degrees celsius (hot) in the room we had to sleep without duvet. In the morning we woke up with bites everywhere.
In the area there is an okay beach, but evetything on the beach closes at 15:00. There is 20 minutes walk to the nearest ATM and at least 40.000 col. pesos for a cab to the city. The area has only one restaurant, at Cocoplum hotel.
Islander house had no internet and the toilet was not working (the landlord had to reset the fuse several times). 
We were also told by locals that this area is not safe to be in after dark. Also, there is nothing else to do or see in this area. 
Please book your stay at a hotel with better facilities or closer to the city center, Islander House is not a good option, we left after one night. 

Stay away!

It's really quiet, it's clean and the people in charge are very helpful. Recommended. Breakfast is good, transportation is always available. Its beach is beautiful and it's practically private.

What a nice place to be.

We stayed with my partner for 9 nights from 16/7/17 onwards.The lodging is very nice but has no hot water, which does not cause much inconvenience since in the heat of the day one does not suffer from having to shower with cold water.The administrators were Nanda and Gomez, very helpful.They prepared breakfast, one would choose between the nine possibilities of the menu and they would prepare it.What I would add as a service is that they clean the room and change the towels even if it is every two or three days.The lodging is not close to the center, so we take a bus that stops anywhere, we get out of the lodging and we stop there, we turn around, as long as we take it at 20.30 pm.At that hour the water turns back on the beach, which costs between $15 and $17,000, but it is a taxi ride from the airport to the beach.

A good state of play.

Avoid this accommodation at all costs, it doesn't have hot water, it doesn't have air conditioning for your own use, but yes, one has to deal with the noise of the air conditioning team who takes care of the place next to the bed. Our first room beyond these problems was acceptable but what they gave to our friends on the ground floor was a shame. We asked them to change rooms and despite having a free and empty room they didn't, we stayed for two days and went to the other side.

Disaster is disaster.

We love the staff, who catered to us as best as possible. The location is very good, although it is far from the center, but the owner of the house works with the rent of golf cars (which are well used on the island) and motorcycles, which makes it very easy for you to get around on the island: we rented a scooter, and when we arrived it was already in the house, and we left it in the house on the way home, very comfortable. Breakfast made on time. The house really stands on the sand, and you can use a refrigerator and everything else you need there!! The mosquitoes (they are muuuuut), but nothing repellent solved it. It's too hot and there's air conditioning, not just a ventilator, and at times, it was missing.

If you feel like a native island

I was looking for a short stay at a quiet place on the island for the weekend and was curious about the Islander House. I read the reviews and despite the warnings about the crabby maid, thought I'd give it a try. I definitely regret it. 

Although I tried to make a concerted effort to smile, be nice etc, her bad mood was pervasive. Despite being at the table for 9:30 I was told I missed breakfast and she begrudgingly let me have a coffee. The two other girls staying in the house gave me one of their sandwiches. Really? You call that a b&b?

Despite agreeing with Gomme that I could check out of the room later so I could use the shower after the beach, the maid said absolutely not and I had to change my plans. I felt very unwelcome after that despite it being previously agreed. Instead of enjoying my last day on the beach I had to leave the house 7 hours before my flight and was left to wander the city centre...

So much for "Islander Hospitality".

The mosquitos are bad, the rooms tasteless and there is not much around at night. Do yourself a favour and stay in the city centre - you can easily get to San Luis and the beach clubs for the day. 

Management- do yourself and future guests a favour and sack the maid. Get someone a littler friendlier who cares a little bit more about the guests and less about themselves.
