I stayed at Mamatukua for one night before leaving the Colombia. We were lucky that they had one room available for us as we just showed up to their door step without a reservation. What Alexis and Maria have built there is truly inspiring. The eco-hostel is located on the edge of Palomino, high up on a hill with incredible views, far from all the other hostels and tourists near the beach. It's right near the beautiful Palomino river which you can swim in and go tubing down (highly recommended). We were warmly greeted and setup with a very comfortable room which was a huge upgrade from our night before. Their place is clean, beautiful and simple. Alexis and Maria took great care of us, providing recommendations, all necessary services like moto taxis, tubing and even had food delivered for us at night. Their hospitality is the best we experienced in Colombia. We will definitely stay again when we return to Palomino!
