I cannot recommend this hotel strongly enough. What makes this hotel stand out is how friendly and helpful the owner and family are. He speaks great English and he is a very welcoming and genuine man who went out of his way to make our trip to Wuyishan a great one. Not only did he help us make a detailed plan for visiting the park (3 days is perfect by the way), he even took us to the North Entrance on the first day.
 Location-wise it's very close to the airport, North Park Entrance and not too far from Wuyishan North train station. Restaurants serving nice, simple Fujian food are 5 minutes walk away, or if you fancy something different you can get the bus to the town centre in about 20 minutes. East train station is quite far away, but there's a shuttle bus you can take, or a taxi costs around 100RMB.
 I see some people have criticised the décor slightly but the hotel has been renovated recently so our room was modern and spotless, the shower was amazing!   
 All in all, an amazing experience and great value for money!

Very welcoming and exceptional value for money

We stayed for 3 nights and had a good time.
As other reviewers say the rooms were tired looking and not very clean but the bedding was fresh and the owners very nice and helpful.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE THEY ARE RENOVATING THE SECOND FLOOR ROOMS AND THEY LOOK VERY NICE.

The owner is Ke (his English name) and he speaks reasonable English, certainly better than our Mandarin). He manages the place with his wife and we met their two children and his grandfather who is 92 and a real character. Grandfather would wander out and sit on the doorstep and read the paper for most of the day, when we came back he was always pleased to see us and wandered around singing traditional songs and smiling a lot! 
They do not serve food so on arriving Ke walked us to the local supermarket so we could buy supplies for the next day. Then showed us where we could get breakfast in the morning and another place for dinner. 
The dinner was excellent, we are vegetarian and had the best food we have had in our China trip, we loved a spicy eggplant dish, fried noodles and a mushroom dish. In fact we ate it every night. Our friends eat meat and had a goose dish which bubbled away in a heater serving pan with tofu, also pork. They enjoyed the meat as well. Very cheap, including local beer and water we didnt pay more than 40 Yuan per head for lots of food.
Breakfast was noodle soup but not very vegetarian, so we bought lots of fruit and had this and nuts for breakfast the next two days.
For access to the Wuyishan park Ke was incredibly helpful. He explained very clearly what the entrance fees were, around 435 Yuan per head for 2 days which includes the everything. He took us to the park North entrance, around 1.5 km, in his car and helped us buy the tickets, then he showed us how the bus system works and sent us on our way. At the end of the day we walked back but he did offer to collect us as well.
In the evening we went to the Tea Opera, again he took us down there in his car and bought our tickets (maybe he got a commission but I dont think so as he charged us less than the face value of the tickets). He then waited for the 60 minutes, or so, of the show and took us back to the hotel.
On the second day he was again on hand to drive us to the park and this time we got a local bus home (2 yuan).
Finally we managed to pay him for his transport services when he took us to the old tea town of Xiamei. He drove us there and was going to wait but in the end guided us around the town for 2 hours because we didnt want a local guide (who spoke no English and would have been no use what so ever). He then took us to the North train station for our train to Xiamen. 

We cannot recommend Ke highly enough, he was kind, patient and helpful throughout. His family were lovely and we were made to feel very welcome. 5 STAR service. Thank you, Mr Ke!

Welcoming, freiendly and very helpful

This hotel was the best we had in all of China. Not because the room was the best, but because of the incredibly friendly and helpful hotel owner and his family. Because of his help, we got more out of our three days in Wuyi Shan than the rest of our journey. He helped us plan our trip in the park, and also showed us a lot of things outside the park we would never have seen otherwise. With his and his familys friendliness, this hotel really stands out against the other hotels we stayed at.

The rooms of the hotel were like most other chinese hotels. The bathroom could have been better, but they were renovating a lot of rooms so I think that will get better in the future.

The hotel is near to the north entrance of the park and there is a small chinese neighbourhood arond the hotel. A few times a day there were airplanes starting from the airport close to the hotel, which made it thunder a lot, but otherwise it was very peaceful.

I really recommend this hotel. Staying there will really enhance your visit to Wuyi Shan. :)

Incredibly welcoming and nice hotel

The hotel decor is a little tired , but what makes this the place to stay is the warm welcome & hospitality from the family that run it . You arrive a guest but quickly become a friend . The family are happy to share all things Chinese with foreigners and go out if their way to share tea with you .
