We stayed for a week on a conference. Not quite what I expect for a hotel that hosted the 2016 G20 Summit . Staff are trying to be helpful but the language barrier is a big set back .
Facilities are OK. They can do better on the food.

Good walking distance to the West Lake if the weather is comfortable. Taxi costs around CNY4 from the hotel to the West Lake Area.

Hotel in a Restful Setting

The atmosphere was nice and elegant for a 4 stars. We stayed there twice during the whole trip. The first check in we were given the right wing outside of the main hotel, i.e. Room 2119 onwards. Rooms were acceptable for a 4 stars. However, on our way back from Huangshan, we were given rooms in the main hotel, with rooms from 1318 onwards. These rooms were really nice, comparable to many 5 stars. 
Buffet breakfast were so-so with a lot of oily stuff. Coffee was bad, which is understandable as China is more a tea drinking society. I was prepared with my own instant coffee bags! 
Last note. Should I caution travelers who are faint hearted that the room I stayed upon my first check in, room 2119, felt "strange and uncomfortable" when I recited my rosary. But I slept well afterwards. No, I did not change room! 


 Beautiful Hotel near the Westlake

A Chinese hotel with less experience with Foreigners. 

The rooms are nice. The location is amazing as you can jog/walk to many beautiful tombs, monuments etc.

The Breakfast is below par and disappointing. The staff are helpful but as usual, their English is minimal.

Looking out the window, you can see a waterfall in the compound coming down from the mountain that this Hotel is situated near.

A very good location and quiet place to stay and allows you to see all the sights.

Great location, pleasant stay

I stayed here for a 2 day business meeting. First things first.  This place was just renovated so be careful with the old reviews, they are out of date.  

The Good:
1) Surrounding area is really stunning.  You have the feeling that you are living in a forest.  Completely different feeling than living on the other side of West Lake, where I have stayed before.  That area feels like you are in the city.  When you are at the Sunny Sunday Resort, you would swear that you are in the middle of nowhere, but at the same time you are 15 minutes from town.  I would stay at this hotel again for this reason alone, very difficult to find something similar in China.  Lots of paths to walk or ride bikes (can get from hotel) nearly, lots of pagodas, nooks and crannies to check out. I didn't really understand the big deal about West Lake until I went here.  
2) Newly renovated rooms bring it up to a decent standard.  Won't blow your mind if you are used to 4-5 star hotels but you won't be disappointed if you came to enjoy the surrounding area.  
3) Good Wifi - a router in every room, so no need to worry about the signal

The Not so Good:
1) Breakfast is pretty horrible if you are expecting a Western breakfast or anything close to it.  Luckily I discovered that there is a Starbucks about 3 km away if you want to take a cab.  If you want to splurge the Four Seasons hotel is about 3 km away too.  I went there for breakfast one morning, Rmb 199.  Worth it, I didn't want to do a second breakfast at the Sunny Sunday Resort.  
2) TV stations are all Chinese.  Even the international ones are CCTV.  

Overall, the hotel has the distinct feel of a state owned hotel but has an excellent location for relaxing and decent facilities.  I would stay here again for sure but would eat breakfast outside the hotel.

Facilities Not Bad, Newly Renovated for G20, Surrounding Area is SPECTACULAR!

Good location, quite convenient close to the lake & park

Average facilities that could use a renovation although I do like the Little inner garden with the fountain

Restaurant is good for breakfast but average at best for lunch and dinner. Bar nice but need to wait half an hour to get a beer.

Good service, staff reactive and flexible. There was an issue with my booking but they managed to change our rooms. The guy at the information was very helpful.
