26 reviewsAs a Westerner living in China, I know that most Chinese owned and operated hotels fall short of international standards. Beihai Luhai is no different. The beds are hard, the property maintenance poor, and the bathrooms smell like sewage. However, I was extremely pleased we picked this hotel for our weekend getaway. Great value. Set right on the best beach in Beihai, and surrounded by hole-in-the-wall seafood restaurants, the location can't be beat. The beach itself is surprisingly clean, expansive, and shallow--small children or non-swimmers can enjoy the water too. The staff speak almost no English, however, so being proficient in Mandarin is extremely helpful.
