Good services, bungalow and restaurant.
Beach is very clean, the staff over there clean everyday. Restaurant there are a lot of good food to eat, At the restaurant has good wifi to work. The reception is very friendly and kind too. Tour desk is near here to ask activities on Koh Rong Island.

Amazing Resort in Koh Rong

Lots of misinoformation about this island online.  There is a little convenience store, and the lodging at Pura Vita is much less primative than I had expected.  Very comfortable, good airconditioning, good food and drink. Beach/water are beautiful. Not a ton, ton to do here for families.  One or two night stay at max, but it is fun to get out and see what these islands are all about.  I think single 20 somethings could very happiliy spend a week or more here. 

Loved our time here!

Cambodia's south coast is known for its isolated islands and spectacular white sand beaches. Koh Rong is one such island in the Sihanoukville Province of Cambodia. It is easily accessible by a speed ferry from the Ochheuteal pier in Sihanoukville.

We planned to stay at 4K beach of Koh Rong island for 2 nights. The 4K beach is named because of its 4km wonderful long stretch. it is also popularly known as the Long set beach. This beach is less crowded as compared to other beaches in Koh Rong and is famous for sparkling turquoise ocean and tropical jungle wilderness. Additionally, the main tourist party area Koh touch village is at a short walk away approx 30 min from the beach. 

Pura Vita resort situated at the center of the 4K beach met all our requirements including long beachfront, quality service and budget. Buva sea speed ferry that operates from Sihanoukville Pier to Koh Rong also stops at the 4K beach. The resort reception was only about 50-meter walking distance from the ferry drop point (4K Pier).

At the time of our visit, the resort had approx. 30 independent wood cottage in various sizes, which were approx. 4 to 5 meter apart from each other. There were a common dining area and a Thai massage center for relaxation. Also, there was a Mini supermarket to buy daily essential stuff near the resort.

We stayed in a single room cottage, which was at height of 1.5 meters above the ground level. There was a small open sitting area in the cottage. The room had a small bathroom with running hot water. There was an issue with power as it was fluctuating during the night. Also, There were many mosquitoes buzzing around as expected in such an island. To address this, they had provided a Mosquito net in the room, which was essential for peaceful sleep

Service staff at reception and restaurant were good. They helped us to book a ferry to nearby islands. Check-in & check-out was seamless without any hassle.

However, a couple of points to consider before booking this property  - No cleaning service provided during the 2-night stay and there was a hostel nearby which played loud music in the night.

Not luxury but value for money at this price point with privacy, peace at the stunning 4K beach of Koh Rong Island.

Big shout-out for location!

So we booked a beach side bungalow way in advance and learned upon arrival that it wasn’t available and finally had to spend our stay on the 4th line, the last one and furthest from the beach but got upgraded with AC room. This makes it lose one point.

The second malus I give here is because you really only pay for the location, there is no extra service whatsoever in the resort, no breakfast, no room cleaning, nothing in the bathroom but 2 towels, and make sure to bring money with you every time you go to the restaurant until they are familiar enough with you to let you go without paying before otherwise they get nervous...

That being said, Koh Rong is an amazing island, far from being as polluted as many would say, or at least it depends on where you go, and 4K beach where the resort is, gets the best of it, and there is everything you may need right next to the resort, lots of delicious small restaurants, shops to buy souvenirs and a marker where you can buy what you daily need.

Awesome location

We stayed at this resort for 2 weeks. If you are looking for luxury, give it a miss. Be aware that there is no Air-conditioning and no hot water. The rooms are comfortable enough and relatively clean. The staff were delightful and friendly for about the first week then we felt like their interest in providing good service waned as they became more familiar with us. The owner of the resort is a lovely lady and always happy to help although I was very sad when, after a serious complaint regarding a cleanliness issue, we never heard a word from her again.... This ultimately spoiled what would have been a great review despite lack of AC and hot water.

Noise at night is loud until around 1am from the neighboring Miami Beach Resort...

DELIGHTFULLY AVERAGE

The arrival at the pier of long set beach looks spectacular with fine sand beach and turquoise water. A closer look reveals however trash everywhere. The staff is not overly ambitious and the facilities... rustic. My room had only a bed as furniture, cold water shower and no A/C but a fan. 
The food won’t kill you, maybe that’s already a plus. 

Overall the island is awesome and the resort has potential. For now I would recommend to look for another place at long set beach or coconut beach. 

Nice location, but not so much the facilities 

Arrived and was difficult to even get noticed at reception. 
Got out in the bungalow next to the toilets which was dirty and no air con. All night watching workers go to the toilet. 
Around the bivalve was filthy. Too expensive for this. For $5 dollars more go to scarlet sails budget rooms and get breakfast included. The guy behind reception did not want to talk

Pura Vita has good points, bad points and one overriding terrible point. Don’t come here if you want tranquility and relaxation. 

In its favour is the location: a lovely beach, relatively free of plastic   flotsam, with an excellent view towards Koh Rong Samloen. Phosphorescence just off the beach if you swim on a moonless night. The cabins, though simple, are pleasant.  Ours was reasonably clean and the bed was comfortable. The helpful reception manager dealt efficiently with our onward travel arrangements. 

Less welcome was the feeble intermittent Wi-fi in the Pura Vita reception area (excellent in the Malibu Hostel, next door) and the variable service in the restaurant/bar (sometimes OK but more often gormless). We quickly learnt to eat main meals elsewhere and were not surprised to find the bar closed before 10pm, despite full occupancy of the accommodation.  Beware mosquitoes too. We had more bites here than anywhere else on the islands, even at breakfast time. 

But the real deal breaker is the very, very loud, thumping music from the Malibu that pervades the whole of Pura Vita. Non-stop Techno / Dance through a massive sound system. It’s audible almost to the far end of the long beach but Pura Vita gets the full impact. On two of our three days here it started in the early evening and continued, full volume, until the early hours, then at slightly lower volume until dawn.  On our third day it finished before 6am, but had been going on since about 2pm the previous afternoon. There was no escape. Closing the doors and windows made no appreciable difference. We might almost have been on the dance floor.  Unless you are an all-night party animal this is not a place to even consider. 

Stay away. 

These beach bungalows are perfect for young party goers but for couples/families and older people I would not recommend this place. 

We were surprised when they asked us to pay for the two days upfront but by 3am we completely understood why... these huts are situated very close to a hostel that pumps music all through the night. 
The only upside to this hostel is that they offer  bottle refills unlike the Pura Vita. 

The staff seem too busy and under staffed to pay much attention to the guests and the food is mediocre to say the least. Especially the breakfast that was included in our 60$ nightly fee. 

Thankfully you can visit other restaurants and bars like The Nest or The Sandbank further down the beach for a more substantial feed.  
The huts are basic and mostly clean but very dated. 

We are sure you can get much nicer accommodation, beaches (littered with straws and plastic bottles) and food elsewhere for this hefty price. 

We would not go back again.

Underwhelming to say the least

We had the worst experience in Pura Vita. 
I’m easy going and never have issues while traveling. 
I asked to see the room and the receptionist would not allow till checkin time even tho there were plenty of rooms empty to see. I then got quoted a way higher price than shown online and would not match the price or show me which room I would be getting if I booked online. The staff was rude and seemed completely disinterested in hosting us. 
I left and tried to find other accommodations  but unfortunately the hostel near by was already booked out so needed up coming back to Pura Vita. 
The room was very run down, walls have mould, and the fan was rusty. 
We paid extra for a “sea view room” but it had the bed facing the wall and not the window where you can look at the view (no point in paying for cottage on a beach if you can’t enjoy the view). 
The power kept going out which made air conditioning constantly turned off. This seemed like an issue specifically with Pura Vita and not the hotels near by. 
Wi-Fi did not work at all at the are with the cottages, and only by the reception which made it really annoying. 
After checking out we asked if we could leave our luggage so we can go hangout at different side of the island without our bags and they wouldn’t let us (first time ever in all the many places I’ve stayed).
Overall terrible place to stay I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. 
Hope this message gets read by the owner and sees how his place is ran when he’s not around. His employees clearly don’t care.
