We booked 3 nights at this hotel to see Veliko Tarnovo and the surrounding area. 
When we arrived the air conditioning fan was not working, it was over 30ºc in the room (with 38ºC in the street) and they refused to change the room. They told us that if we did not like it, we should go to another hotel. 
The hotel has no elevator and they made us go up 3 floors with two suitcases and two backpacks (more than 40kg of luggage) by the stairs .... 
The room was dirty, especially the carpet. I haven't seen anything with so many stains or so disgusting in a long time! The furniture is rickety, chipped, broken, doesn't close.... The refrigerator, besides being old and dirty, was turned off and unplugged and it took 1 and a half days to cool.
Unfortunately on the 2nd day, I tripped on one of the cobblestones of the private street of the hotel (at 2m from the door) and apart from making a pitiful face, they did nothing, they only gave us the address of the public hospital. 
When I returned with 2 fractures (arm and leg), they made a pitiful face again, but did not want to change the room....I had to climb 3 floors with a cast arm and a stiff leg with a splint....
The next day they made me go down 3 floors and one more to get to the basement for breakfast.... and of course no help to bring down the 40 kg of luggage.
It is clear that I will never return to this hotel nor will I advise anyone to do so! I have never seen so little empathy, collaboration .... and of course I didn't receive a single apology for falling down. 
In short, the hotel is not worth it! It is old, dirty, has no lift and the customer service of the staff is pitiful.

A hotel I should never go back to and I should never have gone to.

It was an extremely poor experience. I don't recommend it unless you have no other choice. The exception is that it is located in the castle area.
The toilet smelled like urine, like a public restroom.
The cleanliness was disastrous.
The towels were of the lowest quality, smelling strange and stained. I didn't dare to use them.
The carpet was so dirty that I walked cautiously even with slippers on.
The bed was like those in school camps, with one mattress thrown over two others, and it was dirty and stained.
The bed linen was much too small for the mattress, so in the morning I woke up sleeping directly on the dirty mattress.
I had to cover the pillows with a t-shirt to make sure I wouldn't catch anything.
The breakfast was pathetic, only recommended in case of war or famine. I didn't touch it but recommend the small restaurant at the intersection, towards the castle, where the food is decent.

Horrible, dirty, with a toilet smelling like a public restroom. I wouldn't recommend it even to my enemies...

Lovely room with an amazing view. Impressed with the amenities, and the roof top above us to see the light show on the castle at night was awesome. Nice neighbourhood, pretty place all round.

Veliko Tărnovo Studio 3* Superio Hotel

On July 12, 2022 my wife and I arrived to Veliko Tărnovo during our 17-day tour from Bulgaria to Romania.
Liked our 3* hotel. Excellent location, few minutes from the fortress, close to the best parts of the city, good breakfast, welcoming reception.

Close to the besthistoric parts of the city

He hotal has a very professional staff. The room was cosy. There is an excelelent view from the roof to the castle and to the soroundings. The breakfast has 3 choieces in the pandemic situation: there is enough too choose from.

Excellent location, sparkless clean, confortable bed and pillows, wonderful wiew from the top floor terrace.
The also have a parking.
Super rich and tasty breakfast!

Very beautiful view. Perfect touristic location. In front of Tsarevets, in down town. In 10 minutes to the centure. Very cozy, very good sirvice, nice piople. More than exelent breackfast. Totaly recomanded.

Building of the year!

Stayed here for two nights. We booked a room with view of the Tsarevets fortress and it was a good room. Spacious, clean, comfy bed and pillows for any type of sleeper, toiletries available. The only downside to the room is that it was a bit cold. They also offer parking, very close to the hotel. Parking seemed safe and so did the hotel neighborhood. Breakfast was also included which was overall fine and varied, but the coffee was rather bad. Friendly staff also! They also have a nice rooftop terrace, I bet it is great to sit there during warm evenings with a view over the city. 

Very good for a weekend getaway 

This hotel has a very good location with a walking distance to the city center. The rooms are large, comfortable and very good furnished. The personnel is helpful and very concerned with the guests. There is a panorama terrace upstairs with the full view of the city. The breakfast is very good and delicious.

Very nice hotel in Veliko Tarnovo

This place is just lovely.  It's small, spotless, comfiest bed EVER and the staff are accommodating (though they don't quite understand milk in tea).  We paid extra for a view of the castle and my did we get it.  The light show was absolutely stunning from our balcony ... we watched it twice during our stay and would return at the drop of a hat.  FABULOUS CITY, great places to dine, reasonable prices and lovely people.
