Reliable

This is a beautiful old house set in a large secure tranquil garden. We were made very welcome by Ana and husband, as well as our bedroom we had access to a large dining room and small lounge but we preferred to sit out on the veranda watching the birds and small monkeys. Breakfast was excellent, fresh fruit juice, home made yogurt and selection of fruits, bread and cheese (we do not eat meat) , there are plenty of good restaurants within easy walking distance for dinner, staying here offers a good alternative to the beach area of Rio.

Beautiful old colonial home

Located at a quiet area of Santa Teresa, Guest House Ana Clark is a very nice place for stay in Rio.  It's easy to reach most attractions by bus or a short taxi.  Walking around the neighbourhold itself is pretty interesting as well.  A historical building with beautiful garden, antique furnitures, execellent design of guest room, wonderful breakfast, very kind and helpful owners......everything is perfect.

A great choice in Rio

We stayed in the Guest House for 10 days ( mature couple) after 10 days at the beach .Rio is wonderful!
It's located up in Santa Teresa which is high up a hill. It's a great alternative. Santa Teresa has a village type feel to it with a great vibe, wonderful views and a good choice of restaurants
There a good mix of tourists/ backpackers and friendly locals The trams weren't operating - due 2015
It's pretty hilly though so might not suit all.
Ana Clark's is about a 15/20 min walk from village centre although can get a bus/mini bus /taxi from top of street and to nearby metro station
There is only one guest room in a magnificent old colonial style house
The bedroom is old fashioned with traditional furniture and shutters but  includes a fridge and a
modern en suite
Guests have access to a magnificent large dining room and small TV room/ lounge both with great character
The breakfasts were lovely with fresh fruit , bread cheese, meat, coffee and  juice
Ana speaks fluent English and is very helpful
