Accused us of stealing a towel when we didn’t even take one out of the room. completely unorganized regarding our reservations. they don’t accept cards even though they have a card reader, simply because they don’t want to pay the card reader fine. The only reason I’ll give them a star is because of the amazing shower.

I arrived by taxi with my family at a pair of glass doors labelled Luz Palace, but the doors were locked. I rang the buzzer and waited for a woman to come to the doors from inside the hotel. She was unwilling or unable to open the doors so we couldn't hear what she was saying. A passerby told us that we needed to go around the corner to another entrance, so we carried our bags around the corner past several more sets of locked doors. Eventually, we came to the pair of narrow glass doors that are currently used to enter the part of the dilapidated old hotel that is still in use. Only one of the narrow doors would open, so we tried to oped the other door, to make the passage wide enough to allow us to pass through with our luggage. With difficulty, we managed to open the two spring-loaded bolts at the same time to unlock the second door, but it opened only about 30 degrees. It wouldn't open any further due to lack of clearance between door and floor. We had to push our luggage through the narrow opening to get into what appeared to be a small part of what was a much larger lobby. Due to the frustration of merely getting into the hotel and the appearance that the hotel was not being maintained to it's former standard, we forfeited the cost of a might's accommodation and walked a cross the street to another hotel that was better and less expensive.
