We walked off the water taxi and I was asked if I needed a cab, "Nope, I'm staying right there!" So easy to just walk across the street. The first thing you notice is the construction of the place. Solid, high fence and iron gate separates the noise of the streets from the quiet courtyard with multiple seating areas to gather and converse. The building itself stands out from others with its sheer size and construction quality. While the weather was beautiful during my stay, I wouldn't fear having to ride out any sort of storm here. My fiance and I had a private room on the 3rd floor, AC was quiet and efficient. The third floor patio provides amazing views of the beach and multiple hammocks and couches to relax. The Wifi coverage was outstanding and provided some of the best connection speeds I had while in Belize. The staff was very friendly and helped us with a golf cart rental. There's plenty to do/see/eat within walking distance but we wanted to maximize our short time there so we went for a full days rental of the golf cart. They even took care of returning the cart when we checked out. I'd go back here anytime and would recommend it to anyone traveling to San Pedro.

In the middle of it all...

This was one of the nicer hostel's I have stayed in. I stayed in an 8 person dorm. The room was clean and got cleaned daily by staff. My best was very comfortable and the linens smelled fresh. 

The place is centrally located to everything in San Pedro which is great but it also means it's noisy. If you're looking for a deserted place this is not for you but if you're looking for a place that's close to everything and a great price this is perfect. 

For $18 bucks a day I slept in a clean safe place. They have wonderful staff who help you book excursions and security that monitors the grounds at night. As a solo female traveler it is nice to know you're safe. 

Good bang for your buck

We stayed there for two nights and we wished we would have only booked for one. The bathroom wasn't clean and the walls were paper thin. Our room was right next to the couch area, and even tho it says it becomes a quiet zone after 2200, we had people being very loud there until late in the night. The clubs are right next door and the music kept us up way past 0300. 

Loud and not very clean

This is my second time at hostel la vista and I love it here! Clean room, super friendly staff, and close to everything. I stayed in a private room which had a strong AC and comfortable bed. My sister and her fiancé stayed in an upgraded private room and they also loved it. LOVE the ocean views from the 3rd floor hammocks!! Would highly recommend this place. 

Love it here!

Ok I had heard this was close o a club that plays music all nite. It is and it does. So I brought some cheap ear plugs. They did the trick. Slept like a baby. Also had alot of Belikin. The room itself was clean. Nothing fancy. probably along the lines of a US Motel 6. Oh i had a private room. so I was not sharing in the hostel part on the first floor. Staff was great, help set up snorkel trip. Came and pick me up from hotel. So this place is essentially in the middle of the island. Id go back. AC worked good, too.
