Ambergris Beach House

I highly recommend the Ambergris Beach House! Ms Shannon and her staff couldn't be more lovely and accommodating. The beach house is more of a resort feel and no where near the prices. We had visited a few other places before choosing to stay here and are beyond glad we did. We had an ocean view villa, where we planned to stay for two night on our honeymoon but we loved it so much we extended our stay two additional nights. The villa/suite was bright and spacious and very clean. Our ocean side suite had a full kitchen, bathroom dining, two flat screen TVs and free wifi. You can completely unplug from the rest of the world or take some time sharing what an amazing place you are visiting online, the options are there. The huge porch was the perfect way to enjoy the evenings but a few steps away is a semi private stretch of beach with a long pier and covered seating at the end. The location is quite and private but you don't feel secluded. It's only a 15 minute walk or so to downtown, but a lot of people rent golf carts. If you rent a golf cart there is private onsite parking and overnight security so you will have nothing to worry about. We were given cell phones that we could use to contact staff if we needed anything while on the Caye. There is a pair of adorable parrots that we called Hello and Hola because they are bilingual! Keep your fingers out of the cage though :) We thought people were speaking a couple times because they were chatting away. Across the street is a great local grocery and a few steps over is a produce stand. We decided to pick up a few things and make breakfast and enjoy them on our private balcony and watch the sun come up. The kitchen has enough pots, pans and utensils to keep you covered for meals which is a great way to save money.
