We stayed in the Kiskadee cabana and loved it! Right on the well kept beach with hammocks right next to the water (beware of the sand flys). Bikes available and an easy ride to restaurants or anywhere in town. Also 3 restaurants that are easily walkable.  Dont miss Hopkins when you come to Belize for the Garifuna culture which is totally intact in this village.  Juanita is great - friendly, accommodating and not intrusive even though she lives on the rear of the property. The cabana was adequate.

Hopkins gem!

Stayed 5 nights & other than sand fly bites I have no complaints. The location is perfect- right on the beach. We stayed in the Pelican Cabana which is basic but all we needed. Very clean& well kept. Juanita was very friendly & helpful. Try the pizza from Zel’s across the lane ( yummy & cheap).

We had a beautiful breakfast on the beach.  Our mojito was made fresh, the bartender actually said wait a minute let me go to the garden to get some fresh mint! Lemons and Mint from the garden make for a wonderful mojito.  Best breakfast yet!

If you come to Hopkins you would be remiss if you didn’t stay here! It’s beautiful and Juanita and her husband go out of their way to take care of it and make sure their guests are comfortable. Juanita’s husband even goes as far as to rake up all of the seaweed early every morning and late every night to ensure it’s pristine in the morning when the guests go out. This place is worth every penny. 

We stayed in the Kiskadee Cabana facing the water (yes, it was worth the extra money) as the breeze from the ocean kept us cool and watching the sunrise every morning was breathtaking.

Hopkins is a beautiful place and if you’re looking to distance yourself from the resort crowd and spend time with the locals than this is your place! If you’re the type of person who wants to blast air conditioning all day (even when you’re not in your room, would prefer to only meet other couples on vacation instead of locals and would like to return to your room every day and find your towels folded and shaped into various animals- than this is NOT the place for you....BUT if you’re willing to be patient, relax and enjoy life as other people live it than there is not a better place than Sandpiper. It’s in a great location with regards to town and you can rent a bicycle from Juanita and go everywhere and anywhere from where you’re situated AND did I mention IT’S ON THE BEACH?!?!?!

Beautiful place right on the beach!

My husband and I just spent a week here and enjoyed every moment of it! The grounds are beautiful, the room was clean, the bed was comfy, and the hammocks on the beach were the perfect place to unwind after a day of adventuring! Juanita and Rodney are so nice and helpful. There are several good restaurants within walking distance and Hopkins is a friendly town! It is a good central location to explore most of Belize...there are a lot of things to do close by.

Perfect Getaway!

We stayed in the Kiskadee cabin - facing the beach.  Nice amenities - including a table and 4 chairs on the front porch, hammocks right on the porch as well as on the ocean.  Juanita was very helpful with information and suggestions on where to go, eat, etc...  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful location-right on the beach.

The sandpiper cabanas are fantastic! A beautiful beach to relax on and in the middle of all the locals of Hopkins. Everywhere you go there is a restaurant that will not disappoint. Juanita and Rodney keep the place immaculate and will help you with any issues you might have. 

We stayed in the flamingo which is road side. It has AC since you don’t get the beach breeze. If you want beach front, pay for the sandpiper or kiskadee. Also, if you’re looking for the typical ‘resort vacation’ with all inclusive, limited interaction with locals, and everything overpriced, then you may not like this. If you want to experience the people, take in amazing food, immerse in the culture, and have a private beach that you may share with 1 or 2 people at most, then come here!

Wonderful place to experience the culture of Hopkins and relax!

I relied heavily on reviews for this booking & was so happy I did. The beach here is well groomed, I loved the interaction with the incredible Garfuna people in Hopkins & can't say enough good things about Sandpiper Beach Cabanas. Location was an easy walk to restaurants and fruit stands. Everyone was so friendly. Made sand castles with the local children. My heart is full. Would have given 5 stars but wifi wasn't the best, which I kind of appreciated because it kept me off my phone and got me into the ocean more and enjoying this unbelievable place. Would recommend this place in a heart beat if you're looking for culture and to really experience Belize. Thanks Juanita for a stay I will never forget.
