This hotel is simply a pearl. We stayed here earlier this year, in our first time traveling to De Haan—a town which in itself is absolute gem of the Belgian coast. 
Located literally on the coast with the beach and sea just a few steps away, this is luxury in the golden and traditional sense—where the people/the staff are exquisite. A toxic trend in the current hotel industry is labelling a hotel 4 or 5 stars based on its amenities and features without putting the same emphasis on the people and management. At this hotel, there is both—superb amenities, including an excellent private sauna (for use upon reservation only) and consummate professionalism and classic hospitality from the staff. 
There is an excellent restaurant at this hotel—one of the finest in De Haan—which features a choice of live lobster from their in-house tank. The breakfast here is superb. 
In many ways, this hotel is a travel back in time, to when luxury service was more in the hands of the actual people involved behind the hotel—to be found in this era, at the Beach Hotel. 
Deeply fortunate to actually be living not far from the Belgian coast, so we can return to this lovely spot at the earliest chance.

Had a great 6 day stay at the Beach Hotel. Very friendly staff, clean rooms and a beautiful room with sea view. Will surely visit the Beach Hotel again 😎 Highly recommended for those wishing a relaxing time at the ⛱️

Wonderful Vacation

An excellent lunch experience on a warm spring day in June. Service was quite excellent although I don't get the 12.15 opening hour (either do 12 or 12.30). We had salads which, together with the nice views over De Haan beach, were well worth their price.

Top location with view on the Sea & Beach, as such allready exceptionnal !  In conjunction very nice terrasse !
The restaurant offers a comprehensive choice of dishes and everyone will find what he likes, when the food comes it is weel presented and very tasty !  The service is super, attentionnate, friendly and professionnal, the staff spares no effort to make you happy !
The rooms are comfaortable clean and offers a nice view !
It's a family first class Hotel, and for sure we shall return !

Excellent !

We spent the weekend here and loved it.  De Haan is an old-school family resort, quiet and charming.  This hotel has very friendly and welcoming staff, nothing too much trouble.  With the restrictions in place, they did everything they could to ensure that we had an easy time.  Food from across the street at Fratelli's was so good we had it three nights in a row (also easy as we still had to eat in the hotel and it is super close).

What a lovely place!

The fantastic service started before we arrived. The level of communication and accommodation we were offered while scheduling (and rescheduling) our reservation was amazing. If I had to pick only one favorite thing about this hotel it has to be the location, literally steps away from the beach! We stayed in the “Family Room with Full Frontal Sea View” and I highly recommend that room, it has the most amazing views and if you open your window you can hear the waves crashing in. 

Beyond that the rooms are clean, the bedding is comfortable, the staff are professional and go out of there way to assist. I love the little details they add like the bottled water and chocolates left in our room, the large spa towels, and even the soft throw blankets. Breakfast in the morning was very nice and each floor is supplied with a stocked kitchenette that had everything we needed.

Unfortunately we visited during Covid lockdown so many of the area restaurants and shops were not open but we enjoyed the breakfast offered at the hotel, had some very good pizza at the restaurant across the street (Fratelli’s) and made the rest work. I have no complaints outside of wishing the in room refrigerator was a little bit bigger. We definitely plan to come back next time we get the chance.

I am so happy we chose to stay at Beach Hotel while visiting De Haan

I had booked a room long in advance, in April, for 5 nights in July, for my mother (with bank card deposit). A room with sea-view. This hotel is the only one in De Haan to have rooms with view over the sea. The trip of my mother was fully organised, with her travelling from abroad, and train tickets purchased. 

Just 3 days before the first night in July, I got a phone call from the hotel, to inform me about an "error" in the booking, and indicating that no room was available anymore for the planned stay. And during this phone conversation, no alternative was proposed to me. Early July in De Haan is very busy as you can imagine! I can understand that errors can be done, but at least a solution/alternative should have been proposed to me at the same time, and not the mere promise of a later call with potential alternatives! I didn’t expect anything from this hotel anymore, and looked myself for a solution. I was very lucky to get the last room available in the nearby Hotel Astel (very kind staff, well renovated, clean and modern). I informed the Auberge des Rois staff by texto. The day after, they called me, with the only alternative offered being a room later in the season, and with an room upgrade! Sounds like a joke.

Now, if you book a room in this hotel, you know what can happen!

This hotel is just not reliable.

Especially wealthy germans stay here for a holiday. The terrace is the only one with view at the sea and fully exposed in the sun. The food is above average and the service is highly professional.Try the salad lobster : just great !

Reamains the best place to stay for a few days in De Haan

We really enjoyed our stay with a couple of old friends at the Auberge. The hotel is a listed building and that has helped it to preserve its general Belle Epoque ambience. Splendidly situated, almost on the beach, it is reputed to be the only hotel on the Belgium coast with direct access to the sea. The rooms are bright and well equipped and the bathroom (shower only) was fairly spacious. A couple of minor quibbles, a miniature safe, and mysteriously no Anglophone channels available on the large cable connected TV set. Ah the cost of Brexit???

Right Royal

One can imagine himself being at a 5 star hotel on a sunny day on the terrace with royals crowns painted in yellow. Book on time because this is the only place where you're treated like a client and not as a bloody tourist. Good and quick service. I noticed that the average guest are germans who like being served well. And they are. So we were. Even inside there are pictures at the wall of Einstein and romantic tables.
