Stayed here in early Oct 2016 for 1 night and booked via a third party provider, the property is a 10 minute drive (Maximum) from Brussels Charleroi airport.

On arrival all external doors were locked and the place looked closed, I had to call the number on my booking confirmation, which was promptly answered by an English speaking guy who said he would come to open the door, 10 mins later I'm still stood there so I called him again, he said he was on his way, stupidly I had assumed he was actually in the hotel when in reality he was a 15 min drive away. On his arrival I had already been let in by chance, but he said that they were closed on Sunday evenings, which I didn't understand ???? Your guess is as good as mine.

Checked in OK in the very dimly lit bar area and had to pay up front (room fee €34.50 tourist tax of €2 + breakfast which I decided to take for €5.50ish - total €42). I had Room 6 which was a single room facing the main road (traffic noise not a problem) with shared bathroom located on the second floor and up some pretty steep stairs (not suitable for the elderly, infirm, those with limited mobility or wheel chair users - no lift - and no rooms on the ground floor).

The room itself had all the furniture you would expect, bed, bed side table, wardrobe, table and chair, TV (no English speaking channels) sink mirror pictures on the wall, but it just looked super super basic / bare.

The room / bedding were clean as was the shared bathroom (plenty of hot water), the heating in the room was good and the bed was firm, just the way I like it, but the pillow was about an inch thick and provided no comfort what so ever, ruining what I think would have otherwise been a good nights sleep.

Breakfast was poor: A few warm bread rolls, butter, jam a small glass of orange and a cup of coffee, no cheese or meat (salami etc) which is pretty standard across Europe for a continental breakfast.

The outside neighbourhood seemed a little questionable at night (I wouldn't let my wife walk around by herself), a few shops, kebab houses, a couple of bars and a "night club" (not sure what "night club" means in Belgium, but it's surrounded by a big red light, I'll let you make your mind up) are all located within a couple of hundred metres walk.

The whole place is super super basic and is definitely more of a hostel than a hotel. In my honest opinion It's not worth the nightly fee of €34, my wife and I have stayed in the centre of Paris in a better place in a double room with breakfast included for the same price it's not terrible but it's not average hence my rating of 2/5, I think that's fair. 



More of a Hostel than Hotel

Basically, no one opened the door.

I've chosen that hotel by booking.com because it's close to the Charleroi Airport.

Getting there by taxi (15€), we have seen the hotel and restaurant signs on, however there weren't  any light on inthe rooms.

The doors were closed, but we decided to wait for a while in front of them. At a certain point a very friendly dog from the street approached us and his owner opened the hotel door, entered very quickly but when I tried to show him the reservation, he did shut the door on our faces yelling something in French.

I knocked for a while without any response. It was too late to book another hotel, therefore we had to go to sleep to the airport (taxi 20€).

If you are looking for a hotel, chose anything but that.

A few weeks before I planned for holiday in Europe, I have book this hotel for a night on 24 July but later I changed my mind. I make a cancellation on 16 July in which it was a week before the exact date. So, I received the email from booking.com mentioned the cancellation has approved with zero charged. Then, after I backed from my holiday, I checked my account but there was something stranged when this hotel took my money for a night on 28 July. I called them but only the machine answer. I called booking.com 3 times, sent the bank statement for prove but until today I still waiting from them to reimburse my money back. I never never had any experience like this before. My question is, how this hotel can still alive? How they can still operate when there are a bad reputation. If I know I never book this hotel. So please this is a reminder to those who want to stay at this hotel.

Never book for this hotel...scam

Arrived in Charleroi at Train Station, a "friendly" woman in the tourisme Information told me from that Hotel; she would know the Chef: a nice guy and a friend of her son...

For me it was ok cause in the North of the city and a good Situation for the next I knocked at the door, five minutes later a joung guy opened and a ver unfriendly woman. She asked: Did you booked by Internet? No. Than we don`t have any rooms. The cleaning-lady, at least she was nice, looked at me and turned the eyes around. What a wonder, 5 minutes monologue with the comuter and she found a room, but it was 10€ more expensive. I took it. it was room n°1 at the first floor, very noisy but clean. The room was ok unless not perfect: cables were not cutted, TV was not working... but ok. 
The next day I took breakfast. The cleaning-lady told me that the complete Hotel was empty. What Kind of strategy is that please? 

By the way: The Situation is good for Airport Connections but very sad, ugly and in a pretty bad part of the city... At least there are two supermarkets 2 minutes ago, a bakery and Restaurants.

Last time, but anyway: The city is a nightmare

unfriendly, surprising prices and not honest

just dont stay there,it was the worst room i have stayed in,the room was a dirty,we sleeped in our cloths,safer that way,did not use the shower because it was full of hair,the loo was was not much cleaner,the loo brush what can i say,phone was hanging off,the roob would have fell apart if we open the doors,I would not go near it
