We stayed at a ground floor room in December for 4 days. Booked directly through email at a price of €126 per night for a triple room with breakfast. A bit on the higher side but all prices are sky high these days.

Location of the Pension is just opposite the Katrin cable car station so very convenient for that. Car parking is free just outside the room. A car is required for Bad Ischl to get around and see the surrounding little towns of Bad Goisern, Dachstein West, Hallstatt etc. I highly recommend to see these 3 towns.

Breakfast was nice in the morning with boiled eggs, cereal, coffee, breads, ham, cheese, fruit etc. A good way to start the day.

Hosts were lovely and helpful - Cecilia and Laurent. 

Wifi was very good. Room had 3 beds and very comfortable. But there is no fridge in the room so this may be a problem in summer?

There was no electric kettle, and they gave us 1 on request. An electric kettle should ideally be available in each room so this needs to be looked at.

Rooms are cleaned and fresh towels provided daily. 

I can highly recommend a stay at Waldesruh, get the ground floor room, get your own car and you will enjoy your stay. 

Wonderful stay! 

We stayed for 4 nights and we´re very satisfied. Pension has a really good location, perfect for bike trips, located just by the Katrin Cable car, so you can easily get up to the mountain and enjoy the views. It´s a nice walk by the river to the center (about 15 minutes).
Rooms are modern with a comfortable bed, clean (towels changed every day) and quiet, each of them has own balcony where you can sit and relax. There is also a clotheshorse. Wifi at the room works well and parking isn´t a problem as the Pension has parking spots just ahead.
The owners are very nice and helpful, they advised us on Covid testing in Bad Ischl. They prepared delicious breakfasts, we appreciate wide choice and vegetable. They´re friendly and they´ll do everything to make you feel good at their Pension.

Charming pension with great location and wonderful owners

I booked this property and was promised 2 rooms, one triple room on the ground floor (cheaper) and a double room (more expensive) on the second floor. When i reached the property, the host refused to give me the double room as promised earlier and gave me a room on the ground floor.  However she did not reduce the rate for the double room. I think that was very unprofessional and not acceptable. Host should have informed in advance about this or atleast reduced the rate. 

Apart from this, the location of the property is 2.5 kms away from Bad Ischl station, a decision i realised was not great on my behalf. I should have chosen a more expensive place closer to the station as all day trips to Bad Ischl require a trip to the Bad Ischl bus stop or train station which are both located near the station. 

The rooms by itself were not bad. Breakfast was ok.

Good rooms poor location

We stayed for a night and before our stay, we received an email from the host trying to tell us that they have some "kitchen technical problem" and won't mind if we do the cancellation. However, we stick to the plan as it is really hard to find a place to stay within a short time in that area and due to this faulty, the host was giving us some discount. We have a great stay in their comfy room and there is plenty of parking space around the pension.

Great stay and responsible host

On a holiday trip we stayed three nights. Location is close to Seilbahn Katrin so it is easy get up to the mountain. Partly renovated room, not fancy but ok in reasonable price. Tasty basic breakfast.
Very nice young couple running the place.

Peaceful location 

Were there for 3 days at the end of june 2018. Located just by the Katrin Cable car, its just a few meters if you want to walk up the mountains with beautiful views. The staff at the hotel are friendly, the breakfast is good and the rooms are great. We will come again.

Great stay

Pension Waldesruh is an ideal place to stay if you want to get a way for a few days. It is close to country walks and skiing in the winter. If you do want to get into Bad Ischl you can walk for 20 minutes beside the river. There is a bus stop next to the hotel where you can get to the station to explore further afield - Halmstadt for example. Each room has a balcony or widows with pleasant views of the mountains. Breakfast is good by Austrian standards and the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. If you don't want to be too close to the town then Pension Waldesruh is the place to stay.
