This was one of the highlights of our trip. The reception lady was so very helpful and friendly, the location was perfect, and the rooms were clean, well-appointed and the bed was so very comfortable. Sitting on the verandah overlooking the water was the perfect way to end our day. The BBQ area and laundry facilities were also brilliant.

Perfect facilities

We stayed at this  Tourist park for 1 night in our caravan with a group of friends.  The park itself is very clean, the showers are fantastic with lots of hot water, pressure and very roomy.  Caravan sites are very roomy and easy to get into.  Staff are super friendly and helpful. Although its close to the main road the noise isnt a worry

Good place to stop

This is not as it looks on website, not inviting at all. Cabins are in need of a lot of maintenance painting new furniture and air conditioning flooring bad also . Had to get a light bulb replaced and also had t push a seat back together as one leg was coming apart.

Our review

This caravan park is out of Wagga which is what we were after.  The drive through gravel powered sites are very good.  Marna was very pleasant and showed us to our site.  The amenities were very clean and showers exceptional.  It is just so disappointing that it is metres away from the Hume Highway making sleeping virtually impossible.  We even went as far as getting ear plugs for the second night we were staying there.  Its a shame, as the park, the manager and facilities are very good.

Clearly this place was once well looked after and deserved a 4 star rating but not any more. The pool water is cloudy, the bathrooms are obviously not cleaned daily (a bit of attention to detail would be good), the grass is long, the communal under cover outdoor area is full of leaves. Generally the place has deteriorated. Such a shame for what could, with a bit of effort, be the nice place the pictures suggest it was.

The pictures lie

Booked standard cabin for the night,  it was advertised online at  $120 but when booked on the phone was $150…. I was told ‘that’s the price’. I know I had the choice to go elsewhere but was late in the day so just went with it, not sure if website needs updating or 25% afternoon tax was applied.
Cabin was grubby with leaves and dirt in the kitchen and bathroom, toilet lid had dirt on it (thankfully only dirt), no hot water at 11pm, bed felt like it was ‘moist’ but dry to touch…. Not sure what was going on there. Linen was clean. Plenty of road noise but that was expected. Would I go back? Probably not.

We picked this caravan park because it was out of town and looked like a nice park it ended up a great choice because it was quiet and very friendly staff with a fire pit with meet and greet other travellers we highly recommend this park

Horseshoe tourist Park is clean and welcoming. Staff very helpful and the afternoon get together over the fire is a great ice breaker especially if you are travelling alone.  Safe park for single travellers in nice location

Holiday travels starting in Wagga

Check in was efficient but noticed we were charged $45 per night, this is over the $40 shown on the website. Website also states fee wifi, that was not offered to us. Richard went over the park rules in detail. Only 2 showers and toilets, certainly not enough if this park was full. Site was an easy drive on, not a fan of the gravel. Had read other reviews about the daily meet and greet and was looking forward to that but is was disappointing and only our host turned up and he was more interested in his mobile phone than his guests, nothing worse that being with someone, who clearly would rather be somewhere else. Left the park with an unwelcome feeling which is disappointing as we always try to support small/family run   parks over the big companies. Lots of room for improvement

Overcharge and not enough amenities

A delightfully small and quiet caravan park only 4km north of the Wagga CBD. Immaculately presented with shade trees and a swimming pool. Great facilities and the owner Richard is full of local tips and knowledge. Highly recommended.
