Perfectly adequate for my needs for one night.
Host was super easy to deal with and very flexible.
Linen on beds was spotless and towels good quality and snow white -  - it's a personal 'thing' of mine. I can't get in a bed that looks a bit cruddy.
A sensor light or small led porch light would have been super handy as I arrived in the dark and a hand rail on the steps up to the deck really would be helpful too.

A good one night stay.

We stayed 5 days at Bimbadeen. The accommodation is three portacabins situated in a farmers field in the center of Phillip island about 10 mins from Cowes. The keys were left in the door when we arrived so entry is easy. The place is clean and spacious  and reasonably well furnished. The kitchen is small and basic but you can cook in it. Unless you stay in the second cabin there is no Wifi as it’s shared from that cabin and cannot reach the other two. Also the cellular service is spotty, great for a digital detox. Probably would have been better if Wifi was dropped from the amenities. Same with the BBQ which is a central one on the deck next to the permanent closed cafe. The BBQ was dirty rusty and didn’t work.

On the 3rd day the kitchen bin became full. We messaged the manager via whatsapp about that situation they didn’t suggest anywhere we could take it. Only that they would come and collect it. Finally on our last day someone came to collect it. Communication with the manager isn’t great, slow to respond and not resolving issues in a timely manner. Not what you would expect from a 4 star accommodation.

The sheep were great and friendly the llamas not so much. Overall this stay was overpriced and underwhelming. I would not recommend this accommodation.

farm stay

Coming from a similar farming area,the accommodation was the most important factor. We found it over priced  and lacking. The wi fi wasn’t working the whole stay, no dishwasher and only a small bar fridge. Things could be cleaner, bugs squashed on the blinds. Can’t say we would return or recommend it for others

Disappointed

Bimbadeen was a fantastic getaway. After having our first trip cancelled due to a snap lockdown, Steve was so accommodating in rebooking us for a more suitable weekend. We arrived at our fabulous cabin and self-check in was smooth. The amenities were fantastic, everything you need in a little home away from home. We particularly enjoyed the addition of the farm fresh eggs! 

All of the cabins have fantastic views across the farm paddocks. We were lucky enough to have the resident sheep and alpacas staying directly behind us. It was such a treat to wake up every morning and say hello to them. Location is fantastic. Close enough to everything yet completely hidden from the hustle and bustle, and Phillip Island Winery quite literally around the corner (they do a fantastic lunch!). Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for accommodation on Phillip Island and would definitely stay again!

The Best!

I could not recommend bimbadeen enough! From the location, the communication and the accommodation! It was a win win! 
Nestled in what felt like the middle of no where but was so central to the big attractions of Phillip island such as the penguin parade and Phillip island race track it felt like everything was at our doorstep, it was also a rough 5-10 minute drive to the main city of Phillip island to get all the necessary goods as well as all the restaurants and cafes Phillip island had to offer. 

The feeling of looking out over a field in the morning as the sun came up and watching the sun go down while having some dinner oh the front deck, was beautiful! 
My partner and I stayed in the one bedroom retreat which was the last one in the line of retreats, it was beautifully set up and ready when we got to the island at midday! Beautifully cleaned and set up with essential  amenities such as eggs, milk, coffee and a stove, fridge and cupboard where all clean and ready to use! Amenities in the bathroom such as hair dryer, soap and hair care where provided as well as many towels to use! 

The smart TV and WIFI was also a huge hit allowing us to watch Netflix as well as local TV during our stay! 

Jenny was great to talk to and helped plan out surprises to make the stay even more memorable, she was always readily contactable and it never felt like asking questions was any hassle! 

And don’t forget about the cutest animals set right behind the retreat which we said hello to morning and night! 

All in all I couldn’t recommend this beautifully set out farm stay enough and will definitely be returning should we return to Phillip island in the future!

Best place to get away

We loved our overnight stay here! 
The 3 bedroom villa was well appointed and had plenty of room! 
... and what a view! 
Great to interact with all the farm animals and really need the fresh farm air. 
Wasn't a huge fan of the cafe but understood it had just reopened 

Loved it! Definite must stay

We loved everything at Bimbadeen! Nice and fresh accomodation with a kitchen that has all basics to prepare a simple meal. My little one loved the chickens, cows and calf feeding! Steve is a great host!

Great Farm Stay

Stayed here for a day to visit the penguins. Lovely accommodation. Very clean with great bathroom and comfy beds. Loved the eggs and breakfast we could quickly cook up. Basic cooking needs are available in the kitchenette. A short drive to Cowes where there are a few eateries and supermarkets. 



Comfortable farm stay 

A friend and I stopped for a morning break and settled in for two coffees each and some delicious flourless orange cake. 

The view past the cows over the hills on to the water is sublime. The atmosphere relaxed and very casual. 

This is a great wayside stop if you can’t face the Cowes crowds at this time of year.  Highly recommended. 

Best coffee.  Great cake. 

Stayed for one night with the kid. Fuss-free. Amazing farm grounds. Alpacas, sheeps, free range chooks and ducks...all got the little one very excited. Definitely a convenient base for exploring Philip Island and it's attractions!
