A week before my stay here, I sent the property a message telling them I'd be arriving around 2.30am - after their final check in time, which was listed as 9pm. I asked how I would access my room at that time. On the day of my booking I realized I hadn't heard back from the motel regarding the late arrival, so I called the hotel at 6.30pm. No reply, and so I left a message. I also emailed the hotel at this time. I then called 5 or 6 times over the next three hours trying to raise a response. I thought that as I had a confirmed booking, there would be instructions left out for me to access the room when I arrived at the Motel, or someone to let me in. I arrived at around 3am, no key left out, no one answering the phone, no one answering the door bell. I had been driving for nearly 5 hours and my wife and I had to sleep in my car by the side of the road. I've not heard from the Motel management at all. No call, no email, no explanation or apology. I can only assume they just couldn't care less.

Great place packed full of amenities, and the owners were so friendly. Our room (8) had two beds, a large bathroom, and was located close to the shared kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies and appliances, with a huge BBQ outside. The grounds were well kept almost like being in a park, chickens and various birds could be heard singing. We had a great sleep and appreciated the all the little details.

Great Place

Great little reasonably priced motel just a few minutes off the highway. It's an older motel but it had everything I needed for a one night stay. Very clean and a very comfy bed. I even had a rocking chair in my room. The lady was very friendly and helpful, will stay again. 

Great little Motel

Great place to stay. Very clean and quiet place to stay. Came in from out of town to go the cinema. Lots of great stores and restaurants near the motel. 5,/5 stars!!!!  They have a nice pool too. Thank you!!!

I was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful spacious garden, undercover parking, a clean and spacious room.
Also the proprietor found out my menulog order was cancelled very late, so she shared her own food with me. What a kind person!
Highly recommended.

Lovely grounds, lovely staff, lovely room

For 90 bucks for 1 night as travellers "just passing by", it's hard to go past Major Innes motel.  It has all you need for 1 or 2 people, lots of "little things" that make a foreign home-away-from-home "work", from some shelf space in the bathroom & shower for your stuff, to a really quiet aircon that does what you tell it, no smelly carpet, clean towels & linen, and recently renovated which make this good value.

A gem amongst the usual mediocrity of motels!

The place is a hidden gem. It is more than just your typical motel. It features a nice guest outdoor area with barbecue, swimming pool and beautiful flowers. Perfect for evening barbecue. Each room feels like a little independent cabin with comfortable beds and air con. Internet works perfectly anywhere in the property. I could even make Skype and Whatsapp calls with the family. Strongly recommended and very good on price.

A hidden gem right next to Port Macquarie

I should keep schtum about this place, so it doesn't get so popular that I can't get back in there again, but I feel obliged to congratulate the owners on the marvellous business that they run. In short, it's a gem.

Mixed emotions writing this review...

Check in was quick,,,room was small but everything was clean,,,owners were always busy around the garden,,shared kitchen was handy,,easy to find,,close to major supermarket, air con, and ouside tables

Great little motel

Stopped over here on the way up from Canberra to the Sunshine Coast and back during the Easter/ANZAC day long weekend. 

It’s an older place but everything was clean. We picked this place because it was pet friendly and had some cooking facilities. 

The rooms are small but we only needed a bed to sleep for the night as it was a late arrival and early departure. 

There’s a shared kitchen that has all the cooking utensils and facilities. There’s a kettle, microwave and fridge in all the rooms. 

The wifi was quite fast and reliable, undercover parking next to your room and it’s only a few minutes off the M1 so it’s not like you need to go deep into town. 

Bring some food supplies or eat beforehand and there’s nothing really walking distance. 

Would stay here again if heading up north
