Great place for two couples ! roaring fire in the winter and huge opening doors front and back in the summer. There are 3x villas all connected so you share the large front deck. Good if you have like minded people, not so if they are boring. 
Well appointed and comfortable.

Great place to stay and do your wine tours etc.

We stayed in #2 with another couple. Plenty of space for 2 couples. The bedrooms/ bathrooms are a very good size and beds are comfortable. Great relaxing on the verandah and not a problem with other families staying at the longhouse. The only issue we had was the very poor wifi. Otherwise we had a very enjoyable time at the longhouse.

Great accommodation and very central

A  nicely situated  B&B  with beautifull garden and magnificent vieuws. The 3 bedrooms are fully equiped  and luxurious decorated. A common livingroom with TV set and spacious chairs for after dinner time. Good beds and a complete breakfast completed our stay, we loved the place and the hosts, a highly recommandabel  B&B

A lovely retreat and dito hosts

This is the third time at the Longhouse.
A great place to stay and with added improvements of the back deck awning.
The kitchen has all that you need for a comfortable stay and the bedrooms and ensuites are enormous and very trendy.
Parking right at your door
Happened to be there when ballons were drifting around which was a great sight... kangaroos at in the vineyard every afternoon and morning

Another Great Experience

With 3 suites of rooms featuring 2 double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, and a large common kitchen/living area, this place is an ideal base for a small group of people to explore the Hunter Valley. It is well laid out, cleverly designed and beautifully equipped for a short stay. For our group of 12 it was almost perfect with two couples sharing each suite, allowing easy get-togethers while providing privacy for when a break was needed.

It is well equipped with washer and dryer, barbecue, good kitchen appliances, and comfortable furnishings. A barbecue area is located on one side adjoining the kitchen area and a huge deck adjacent to the living area and overlooking a vineyard area with views to the distant ranges.

Basic food items, such as pepper, salt, sugar, coffee, tea and olive oil, etc, are provided but more specific items will need to be brought in.

Ideal for a Small Group

My daughter & I spent 3 nights at the Long House recently & it was a truly amazing time for Mother & Daughter catch up. So peaceful & roomy. The fire place was set & all we had to do was put a match to it. Magic time spent together. I even was up early enough to see some hot air balloons flying overhead while sipping my morning cup of tea. Will definitely be back for another visit

Family

The Longhouse has everything you need for a short Hunter break.  Each of the three units has two quality ensuited bedrooms, so each unit is ideal for two couples. We were in Unit 2, and one of the bedrooms has a fireplace.
The shared area has a kitchen, long bench, lounge area, fireplace, air conditioning and full height sliding doors opening onto the verandah.  Screens can be pulled across to keep insects out and to soften the sun glare.  The verandah also has a fold out awning.  There is a very peaceful vista available from the verandah and from the shared area.
An internal laundry "cupboard" contains the washer and dryer, and on the car parking side of the unit is a BBQ along with outside table & seats.  This BBQ area is screened so is relatively private, but the verandah is long and open, running along all three units.  
Each evening and morning, kangaroos could be seen around the Longhouse.
It would be useful to have a power point available on the kitchen bench, and we found the Internet coverage to be patchy.  Other than these two relatively minor aspects, the Longhouse is a great option for a Hunter stay.

Everything You Need

Nice spot, but property is ageing and needs updating.  The ensuite doors in the respective rooms give absolutely no privacy, so don't stay here if you're hoping for a romantic getaway.  Little to no utensils and not enough glassware or cooking implements.  Lounge area is tight but deck out front is lovely and awnings a saviour in the heat.  Probably wouldn't return.

Nice location but tired property.

The Longhouse is well situated in a quiet and lovely location and is a good place to spend a weekend in the Hunter Valley.  The accommodation is well configured for two couples and the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable.

Unfortunately the accommodation is starting to show some age.  The rangehood in Unit 1 is in disrepair and the lights in it were not working so the light in the apartment was insufficient which made food preparation very difficult. There was also insufficient crockery.  The lounge room furniture seemed tired and some of it was just uncomfortable.  

When you pay top dollar for a rental you expect good quality. We were disappointed on this, our second visit.

We do recommend you pay the Art Gallery on McDonalds Road, "Watershed Gallery" a visit when you're in the HV.
