It was the only hostel open on Christmas and New Year, but no breakfast those days, not even coffee or tea bags left out for the few guests. Breakfast is sweet roll and biscuit, coffee, tea....very humble...but this seems to be standard in Tucuman.

No one there most nights, so I had to let arriving guests in, 3 times after midnight, once at 2:00 AM; not even a "thank you" the next day from manager Hugo. He is a singularly unfriendly, unhelpful, and unappealing fellow...he did not say good morning, good afternoon or anything unless I did; otherwise totally ignored me...even though I was sometimes the only guest.  What a drag!  Also, I had to let guests and staff in regularly during the day....no one around.

I had to scrounge for toilet paper many days.  Showers warm but not hot, and some days only cold.  Rooms, beds just OK....cleaning lady did a good job.  The place is very run-down and poorly maintained. The niight attendant asked me to share my beer, then asked if I had vodka, which he said he liked.  He smoked cigarettes in hostel, even though prohibited.....nasty!  Then he disappeared.....guess he was fired.  Totally unprofessional atmosphere.

They had a big party one night in rear courtyard....noisy, smoke, people all over until after 3 AM.  I had to watch my valuables carefully.

One good thing; they let you bring beer/wine in hostel.

I cannot recommend this place, unless you have nowhere else to go.  The A la Garda Hostel on Maipu is better located, cheaper, cleaner, better maintained, way friendlier, and professionally operated...stay there!

Only if you're desperate!

Paint falling apart everywhere, rusty window frames, bathroon not clean and missing toilet paper everyday, have to ask for.. smelly bed and stains in the blanket
Decent breakfast but only ONE teaspoon available for all guests... Floor in the patio acts like a swimming pool when raining, wooden floor downstairs has several missing tiles... beware stumbling in the night. 
Last but not least, no internet for 4 days because... they didn t pay the bill! 
I paid in advance becuse I was asked to and it was a mistake, go somewhere else!!!

very run down

Positive: good location, nice staff

Negative: old building, very dirty like greasy everywhere kitchen, same in the common areas, dorms were terrible (poorly furnished and old), quite noisy

I did not try the wifi, but it was free. They offered activities also, but we only stayed there for a night and that was enough !

Cheap dirty place

I had the worst experience in this hostel. I couldn't stay more than one night and the owner had to wake me up really early to make sure that a larger group could have the room.

The kitchen was dirty and the crowd was terrible. The breakfast was alright though. Everything is old and even if the staff is sort of friendly, you feel insecure in this place. I wouldn't trust anyone from there.

The price was alright but seemed overpriced for the experience I had. 

The wifi was okay, but a bit slow.

Terrible hostel

We made a reservation for this hostel for 2 nights through hostelbookers.com.   When we arrived at the place, they informed us we could only stay for 1 night, because they made a double booking and a very big group was coming the day after so the hostel would be full.
Obviously they did not make a double booking, but just preferred a big group over 2 guests, so we had to leave.  The place really looks run down and dark, and there were barely any guests when we arrived.

We decided to leave there the same day, but we only got half of the refund back we had already paid.

They helped us finding another place though (Domo hostal, Entre Rios 31).  It was much better in any way:  Clean, light and spacy and a well equipped kitchen and a very nice communal area.
