The most beatiful place in Albania!

I was amazed by this place in Kruja! The hosts are very friendly, helpfull and you can feel their hospitality all the time! Everyone is welcome and the family makes everything for you to enjoy your staying there. I had all my mealtime in the same restaurang that belongs to Merlika family with a spectacular view and delicious dishes. The localization is in the actual castle very near to museum and local bazzar.I had an amazing time, realy! I will recommend Rooms Merlika to everyone.

My favorite place

Artur and his family offer everything you need, comfortably and affordably. I stayed for three night, eating every meal there with great recommendations of what to do/see as well as eat. The view is truly outstanding and provides a distance from the rest of the town, great place to read and think and be!

Beyond comparison, best stay in all of Krujë.

Very beautiful place! Big garden with a lot of plants, place for having the meal is located on a big terrace with a great view of the neighborhood of Kruje and Tirana.
Arthur and his family are very helpful hosts if you have any questions about what is worth seeing in the city you can freely ask them. 
Food served in Merlika is fresh and tasty.
If you are here, you have to get a room in Merlika!

So - the location: you could not find a more "right in there"-location. And being the B&B in front of the two sharing the building, the views from rooms, garden and terraces are simply stunning. Sunset, sunrise, or any time inbetween. 

There's no need to dine elsewhere in town - the best food we found, was the one we got served here, at least. Tried breakfeast (included in room), lunch and dinners - very happy with the lot. 

But the MAIN reason why I would not hesitate even for a second to choose this place for another visit? The host! 
Due to reasons completely un-related to the Merlika, our taxi-driver did not show up as  pre-arranged, and we missed our journey onwards. Despite being fully booked for the night, our host managed to find us a place to spend the night, got up extra early for next-morning breakfeast, and DROVE us (at no extra expense) to the furdon/bus-stop further down in the village, and even instructed the driver where he was to drop us off (which was a good hike further out of town than where he would usually stop). 

When I then realized, when standing at the high-way shoulder in Fuze-Kruje waiting for our bus to Shkodra, that I still had the room-keys in my pockets, and gave him a call, he most generously accepted my suggestion of leaving the keys with a furdon-driver (rather than hiking back up to Kruje to hand it over ourselves), saving us hours on our onward travels to Montenegro. 

Hands down one of the kindest and most accomodating host we've encountered in a very long time (and we usually find very nice people to stay with)

Amazing location, good food, GREAT host

Once you enter the property you feel back in ancient times. This Hotel restaurant is situated right next to the castle. In fact it is an original Ottoman house, inside and outside.
The garden and terrace is very nic with a great vieuw over the surroundings; from Tirana to the Adriatic sea.
The owners are very friendly and helpfull to make you feel ok.
They serve great food.
I'll be back there.

Back in ancient times.

We got there afternoon, the place is within castle walls. Very good view, you can see the sea. Sunsets are stunning there. They ot very good food at the place, and the owner is very friendly and helpfull.

Very nice place in very old house

The absolute best location, in a traditional and  historic property and unbelievably cheap!!! Comfortable and homey with spectacular rooftop views to watch the sun rise with your morning tea. And you won’t find a better location - within the castle walls and above the old bazar. The 2 other Kruja museums are only 50 yards away. The hotel itself has a lovely little restaurant serving up traditional home style dishes, plus there are 2 more dining options right next door. The owners of this property were the most warm and accommodating you could ever hope for!

Best location & amazing hospitality !

Bar and restaurant Merlika is an historic building close to Kruja castle and the old city. Restaurant inside and outside with stunning views. Large room with good beds and a private bathroom. A friendly staff that did everything they could to make us a pleasant stay. Plenty of heavy blankets in the room was necessary to keep us warm. Breakfast was included and tasted very well. A variety of lunch and dinner choices was provided for a competitive price. Transportation was possible even at early morning.

Such an old building, poorly insulated and with single glassed windows makes the room a bit cold in March, it should have been equipped with better means of heating. There was no air conditioning, only a very small heater fan.
