Great location, staff fantastic 

Old and outdated, black mould in bathroom, hair in bed.  Noise at times as 100 meters from Walking street.  Great street food and walking distance to all markets. 

For location still was a great stay, made Better with the helpful staff.

I will start with a positive note; There was somewhat hot water coming from the shower.

Now the rest, where should I even start...

- We arrived by taxi (who tried of course to rip us off) and were greeted by a very unfriendly staff member (who also went along with the scam-story of the taxi driver).

- Arriving in our room we discovered it looked nothing like the room on booking.com;
* The room was definitely not clean, stains and ripped-off wallpaper everywhere
* There is mold in the bathroom, including a very bad smell
* The safe, which is showed in 3 pictures on booking.com and also mentioned in the room description, is completely
missing. When asked about this, the staff answered that "it's just a picture, the rooms have no safe"
* The windows are of bad quality and don't even close at all so you here everything from outside (see the next point, this gets worse)

- The neighborhood is absolutely awful and extremely loud. I think we only slept for a total of 10 hours in the 5 nights we (had to) spend here. Every evening there were groups of drunk people sitting on the sidewalk in front of the hotel screaming and laughing and revving their motorcycles. This usually went on until around 4 AM. (We asked the staff if this was normal and we just got a 'Yeah' and a should shrug...).
If we then could finally get some sleep, we were quickly awoken by the school which is adjacent to the hotel and for some reason plays some crazy loud techno music every morning around 6:30.

- The wifi is mediocre at best, if it's even working at all.

Terrible time in HCMH

Location is good, not too busy, but close to most attractions and backpacker's streets. Quiet when window closed.
The biggest problem is cigarette smell, inside our room and corridor. I did not check before booking, in our room there was cigarette ashtray, so I guess smoking is allowed.
Receptionist dont have enough English ability.

I was woken up at 7am with the sound of a vacuum and looked outside my door and there was a maintenance person vacuuming the stairwell. I complained about the noise but was ignored. The vacuuming lasted 3 hours. After finally getting back to sleep i was woken up again by this female receptionist telling me to check out and i asked if could i have few more hours because of the noise in the morning and was denied. Then, when leaving, she had the audacity to say "never want to see you again, get out"...

Bad receptionists

Excellent Hotel, casual, friendly, helpful staff! Recommend for couples, family or solo stay. Conveniently located to Saigon Central minutes away from some of the best cafes and coffee shops you could ever want. Major Supermarket just quarter a mile away many shops for clothes, food, bakeries you name it it's right around the corner from this hotel. You can't beat the price, very cozy comfortable and clean accommodations with fridge.  definitely recommend this place we stayed for two weeks

enjoy saigon

Cheap price. Yes. Cause you may not find another hotel in district 1 with this range of price. But that was it. The room is not well-furnished. AC not working, TV is not working due to no signal. No slippers available. Has a nice view from the window. The attitude of the staff is not acceptable either. No smile, grumpy face all the time. I may not return to this place again. 

It was a bad experience 

We have had a terrible experience here, the smell of rooms is stemmed from the toilet...as a whole night.
When we asked the receptionist she had ignore...will not come back 2nd time.
The service is not what have been advertised

We make reservation for one night, arrived after planned, they kept a room for us and upgraded us for the same amount to a bigger room. Room, though not super modern, very comfortable, spacious, with ac, fridge, comfortable bathroom, wifi, clean.
People in the hotel, very, very nice. Only problem they know very little of English, but they try to help in any possible way?
The hotel is located in a quite, beautiful street, with many coffee shops and restaurants nearby.
