Very good location right in the center of Hanoi old quarter and amazing value for money! The best part of my stay was the staff! They were incredible welcoming and helpful, I literally felt like at home there. I recommend this place 100% and I would definitely go back!

Great location, amazing staff!

The Green Street Hotel is located in the middle of the Old Quarter on Ma May near the corner to Hang Buom – so it offers a great location in the Old Quarter, near many food places, bars and cafes. Overall a great location.

The hotel offers a range of single, double, triple and dorm rooms.
I stayed in a twin bedroom overlooking Ma May- offering a nice view. Surprisingly I didn't find the room noisy. The room is rather basic with two beds, a TV, mini fridge, A/C and an en-suite bathroom. The bed was comfortable and not too hard like so many beds in Vietnam. The bathroom had a shower corner with a glass panel, a rather unusual sight in Vietnam.

Breakfast is included, but never eaten there during the two nights I stayed there. They offer late check-outs if required for around 50% of the agreed price per night. 

The hotel has a travel agency attached on the other side of the road, it offers transportation from and to the airport (private car to the airport was $14) and they have a laundry service ($1 per kilo). The front door to the hotel is open during the night, and there are two people sleeping at reception. If you do not wake them you can take the key from behind the counter. The staff was friendly and helpful as well.

For a price of $23 it was good value for money and it is a good place to stay. However, unfortunately they do what so many other hotels do - they mention prices in US$, and when paying using a higher exchange rate, making the room more expensive. We talk about $1 more, but it would be more honest if the correct exchange rate would be used. That was the only downside of the hotel.

Good place in the Old Quarter

We stayed for a few nights. The staff could have been a bit friendlier and the beds were very hard but as it was our first few nights traveling we didn't mind. One thing to bare in mind is that as we explored Hanoi a bit more we found there are a lot better places available for a similar price.

The Green Street Hotel is in the old city of Hanoi. It is in a very good location as it close to many restaurants and most of all it is on an easy street to find in the maze of streets in the old city of Hanoi. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and they arranged tours and sightseeing in and around Hanoi. They also arrange tours anywhere in Vietnam as well as bus tickets to any city. I found my room at the hotel to be very clean and spacious with a good shower and toilet and it was definitely not expensive to stay at this hotel. Breakfast is also included at the hotel.

Good place to stay, you can find cheaper but for the price, this place is clean, the staff is great and helpfull, good breakfast with multiple choices.
Dorms are comfortable, good shower too.
You are in the middle of Hanoi old town, so all the shops, bars and restaurants are all around. 
Just be careful if you have a motorbike, the street is closed to vehicle from 7 to 11 pm, only during the weekend.
Stayed for a week and would come back.
