Live MVD Hostel

I was there in 2012 and I have very nice memories about this hostel. The staff are really young and full of ideas! During my stay there I always felt very good in their company and also met many other friends. I'm sure to visit this hostel again if I return to MVD!

Great location, really close to ciudad vieja must-see spots. The beach is only few blocks away, also a supermarket just crossing the street. The staff are so nice, helpful and friendly, especially Marco, Gonzalo and Cindy. Beautiful and fun decoration and a Great place to sleep or chill and meet new people. Also is a secure 
to leave your things. 

Lovely place! The bedrooms are pretty big, to ~12 people. Good breakfast included in the dorm price. The most remarkable is the staff: always helpful, give useful tips about the city, tours and places. All of them speak english.

Realmente muito bom!

This place is in  a safe part of town and close to the beach and supermarket. The place itself needs some maintenance especially with its locks and door handles but we still felt safe. The place is small and the vibe is that of a close family. There is even a cat and a dog that are there to welcome you. It is a chilled and relax hostel to unwind in. The kitchen is well equipped and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

Great place to stay, relax and meet new people.

Simple but homey

The hostel is in a decent location, the staff are helpful + friendly and I had fun on my 2 night stay there. That said...

The place is small and so full of stuff that it must be impossible to clean properly (at least I guess that's the reason why it's dirty). The dorms are RAMMED - there truly is knowhere to put your bag - and dark. The communal areas are nice enough, but small (full with people, it must be a nightmare). 

Also, there is a pet cat and dog (the latter of which is rather amorous, be warned!), which means fleas. We got a lot of bites there and for a few days after we left.

Maybe I'm getting too old (I'm not 30 yet!), but I just couldn't recommend it given the quality of other hostels I've stayed in in South America and Uruguay.
