I really enjoyed my stay at The Sutton Inn in Elkton, MD. I discovered the inn by chance and am very happy to have  found this place. I couldn't be happier with the clean, comfortable, modern, and quiet room. I have paid hundreds of dollars more per night for a lesser room in one of the big chains. The owner of the Sutton Inn, Chuck, was very helpful and welcoming. By the way, the TV in the room was great too. If you ever need to stay in Elkton, Maryland, I highly recommend you stay at this inn.

I am a history buff and I love the fact that The Sutton Inn has been a family business since 1953 when Jerry Sutton and his wife Gladys Warren Sutton opened the business. Jerry lived to be 100 and died just before turning 101.

Unfortunately, family and small business are forced to close due to competition from the big chains.  The Sutton Inn offers a lot more than any of the big hotel chains.  The Sutton Inn is a gem and I highly recommend it.

Sutton Inn -- A Hidden Gem

This is the cleanest motel I've ever stayed in. Beautiful bathroom. Easy parking. The owner Chuck is a sweetheart and aims to please. Bed and pillows were comfy. My dog gives it a paw up. Close to several nice restaurants.  

Love this motel

Nice bathroom.  Room heating was poor, fan problems (noise).  No lobby coffee, lobby closed.  In room coffee was poor.  Housekeeping did a great job.  Was so cold at night we resorted sleeping fully dressed.  When returning to room in evening, thermostat had been lowered to 60 degrees…. Brrrrr.  Management did not appear concerned.  When checking out, no one in office.  We called and we were told to leave the key in the room.  Will not stay this location in the future.

2 days in Elkton

Not happy with the Sutton Inn.  My wife and I stayed at the Sutton Inn and were treated very poorly by the owners wife Cindy Breza.  The rooms smelled like smoke, and all I heard during the day was the owner's daughter yelling and screaming at other family members, running up and down the stairs.  She would throw things, and cuss.  I also woke up with bites.  My wife and I will not be staying here again.

Not Happy

I was very happy with my recent stay at the Sutton Inn.  Was greeted by the innkeeper, Steel, at - and he was very friendly and acommodating.  Room was clean, neat, and nice, especially for the price.  I would stay here again if I was in the area.

Nice, clean, no-frills hotel

It's probably the best of the non-chain hotels. Family owned, clean, but some rooms need updating. The worst part was the paper-thin walls. The people next to me were up literally ALL night talking and I heard everything!!

In a pinch

We stayed one nite. The property is small and one story. Family owned and well kept. It's very basic but very quiet and most importantly clean. Good coffee in the AM and a continental breakfast.  I will stay here again when I'm in the area. 

Clean, no frills

This is a no-frills motel. with the owner/manager on the premises.  Room is attractively decorated with nice furniture.  Microwave and refrigerator seem to be an addition from last year.  The building is far enough back  from the road that traffic noise is not a problem  Good breakfast, with hot and cold cereal, muffins, donuts, juice, good coffee.  Don't overlook the lovely seascape in the lobby.

A good night's sleep

Only stayed for one night , wished we could have stayed for more. Chuck was very friendly and accommodating.  This FAMILY owned motel is very very clean and I loved the room we stayed in.  Do not waste your time calling any of the other motels nearby.  I prefer to give my money to family owned businesses.  I like to stay in a place where I feel safe and do not have to worry who else is staying in the next room.  Chuck showed us the rooms and left us pick what room we wanted.  The king size bed was great as was the shower.  We will stay there again when we visit Elkton in spring.
