We arrived early evening. My daughter was exhausted after a busy day. Her double room smelled of damp and stale cigarettes. The ceiling above her bath had a huge black stain of mould and flaked paint. We were very disappointed with that but because she needed to go to bed asap she tried to ignore her less than wonderful surroundings. Thankfully the bed was clean and comfortable but the smell of the room kept waking her up which confused and disoriented her during the night. She felt dreadful in the morning.
Our twin room was ok but we were continually disturbed by stampeding nocturnal elephants stomping across the floor in the the room directly above us throughout the night. It was awful.
We would have slept well had it not been for those inconsiderate people.
This was our 2nd and last stay at Truro Premier Inn. It is the worst P I we’ve ever stayed in. A waste of money and to even charge for a nasty bowl of porridge for breakfast was an added insult.

Could be better

Carnon Downs has become my regular when I'm down in deepest, darkest Cornwall. Always a great welcome from the reception team. Clean rooms & convenient Beefeater restaurant opposite with a covered walkway. Nothing is too much trouble for staff here. Great PI.


Premier Premier Inn

Would of been 5 star review can’t fault hotel, however the beefeater food wise was not great, evening staff seemed like they couldn’t be bothered, breakfast in the morning was better although could be because it is self service.

Hotel great, Meal not so good

The premier inn is brilliant. WE COULD NOT HAVE BEEN BETTER SERVED. BUT BUT BUT,  The Beefeater was the worst we have experienced. First of all the starters were not available but there was no indication before we ordered of that fact. We had steaks, or should we say one o f the party was forced into having steak because nothing else that could be eaten was available. We decided to abandon our stay at Truro. We were booked for three nights, but went further west. May we say that the Premier Inn staff were brilliant and could not have been more sympathetic. Why do Whitbread not have the same standards in their restaurants as they do in the accompanying accommodation?
 I am not usually a person who will so vehemently complain but Beefeater standards are not what they used  be if Truro is to be a standard.

Truru - not again

Perfect bed, perfect staff, perfect cleaning, perfect (large) bathroom. Even the heating system and aircon was great and easy to work. I wish I could give this place 10 stars. I was so comfortable in bed I skipped breakfast.

Best Hotel Ever! ...yes, really!!!

Georgina and her colleagues (Karen, Tracy, Elisha - sorry I didn't manage to get everyone's names) are amazing!! So so so friendly, lovely, happy, kind and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble, and I can't praise them enough! The hotel is comfortable, clean, and warm, with plenty of free parking. Great breakfast, hot buffet and lots of choice. But the team really made my stay - thank you so much for everything! I'm looking forward to coming back to stay again soon :) Thank you!!

Room was absolutely spotless on arrival, not a spec of dust to be found. The bed was really comfy and the duvet was warm and cozy. Wifi was pretty cheap for a week of access. Lots of plug sockets, and staff were really friendly and happy. 5/5 will be staying here when I visit Truro again.

Adjoining pub worst ever food terrible and mostly only warm
Breakfast was even worse and cold on the first day of my stay
Staff rude and unhelpful 
Avoid avoid wouldn’t recommend one thing 

Rubbish

The bedroom was comfortable and clean. The beds are excellent. What really made our stay was the lady on reception, called Georgina M. She couldn’t have been more helpful and was so lovely to my daughters. My 10 year old wants to come back just to see Georgina!

Friend paid for breakfast on her card.I was then charged for breakfast on my card as I booked the rooms.Soooo….we were charged twice for two breakfasts.Trying to get any redress has been like pulling teeth.The receptionist was pretty dismissive and unhelpful.Premier Inn’s website seems to make it deliberately difficult to complain.However I will not be deterred!
