This was the first time we have stayed in a b&b in someones house, didnt realise at time of booking, thought it was a purpose built cottage/b&b. The owners were delightful and very easy to get on with, we spent most of our time in our room, and although there was only one towel for us and the room could really do with a net in the window too. Tv had remote missing but we were told that straight away, still a bit of a nuisance though, and fridge was a little noisy overnight. Cracking breakfast in the morning however and certainly couldn't grumble at the price.

visited the vines September 27th to the 4th August, 8 nights , we arrived as strangers and left as good friends ,nothing was to much trouble ,lovely room ,a real mans breakfast in the morning ,cannot recommend this B&B highly enough , felt vary relaxed after our long journey from southern Spain , we give it 10 out of 10 , for the welcome 10 out of 10 for the food , 10 out of 10 for the lovely homely treatment ,  Mr Mrs Gordon and Ann Mottram from southern Spain

Stayed here just over a week ago on route to Cornwall. Everything about The Vines is first class, the premises are extremely clean, rooms lovely with comfy bed and the breakfast will keep you going all day. We had our dog with us (Border Collie) who was looked after as well as we were. The owners of The Vines, Di & Pete, are fabulous hosts and made us feel more than at home even looking after our dog while we went for our evening meal at the local pub. If we are ever in the area again this will be our first port of call. Well done Di & Pete. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Fantastic

Because of work I have spent the last few days in Torquay and stayed at the Vines Hotel. I found the premises very clean and neat and the owners very friendly and caring people who made me feel like I was at home, and of course not to forget their beautiful little pet. Their food was absolutely delicious and their kindness unforgotable so I will definitely be comming back and recomending this place to everyone. Good price, wonderful experience. 

The Vines was the perfect choice. Di and Pete are the most lovely hosts and their house is modern, spacious and comfortable. They only have two rooms with bathroom, both spacious and very clean and decorated very lovingly. You feel like you are in a Boutique Hotel – not like in a B&B. 

The house is a 5min drive outside of Torquay city centre and at the end of a short road so very quiet. Even though it is a family home you are always made to feel welcome and can have the best chats with the owners. Oh and they are very pet-friendly!

Breakfasts was generous with all one would want (even all we want and we are difficult to please as we are both vegans and we found this is a very very vegan-friendly place) - bread, spreads, plenty of fresh fruit like wild berries, grapes and apricots. And they will be so kind to ask you what you wish to eat besides the usual – Our lovely host makes the most delicious vegan pancakes with chocolate sprinkles btw!!!

We will definitely be back – actually we just booked another stay already. The Vines is a great "base" to use to explore the South Coast of England by car. We could not have chosen better.
