Room: window had a towel in it to absorb the damp and to keep it closed. Spiders and cobwebs everywhere, a couple even returned so at least they liked the room. Stains on the bed sheets, TV didn’t work. Booked the garden room and got the car park room. 
Breakfast was basic and undercooked, certainly not value for money at £135, should be about £50 at the most then until we could prove we’d paid up front due to poor wi-fi we nearly had to pay twice.

Dirtiest B&B

Stayed here for 1 night after attending family wedding.  Audrey and her son were very friendly and helpful.  Our room was warm and the bed comfy.  Tea and coffee etc was provided in the room.  Choice of cereals, fruit and juice, plus cooked breakfast.

Arrived today for one night stay. When we phoned the owner Audrey was nice on the phone until we arrived. 
The son Ian is not capable of running a bed and breakfast 
We arrived to family rooms the doors don’t even lock and the other room the other end of house is cold and damp and brother took unwell after sleeping in the room of damp conditions. 
We arrived at 10am for breakfast to the breakfast been burnt as it was microwaved. 
Ian the owner was aggressive and rude and walked about like a strange guy. 
He Cooked the breakfast and after my brother was sick he was away taking about us to his mum. Both very rude people who shouldn’t have the ability to be charging money for a stay like this. 
The place is dirty kitchen and bedrooms they rent out. 
All nice until the day of check out when they push you out your rooms. Banging on doors asking families to leave. This place needs shut down. Don’t go unless you want harraased from the owners Ian and Audrey.

Worse stay ever. Don’t go hear unless you want pressure

Audrey is such a fabulous host. Beautiful breakfast and lovely room. For dinner, it's a very quick drive to St. Michael's Pub. A charming pub with very good food and beer.  We'll be back next time.  Loved Haggis the cat.

1 night stay last summer

Audrey and Alex welcomed us to their lovely guest house on our recent visit to an Open Day at St Andrews University.  The room was comfortably warm and the twin beds cosy. We had everything we needed and the breakfast was tasty.  There was a selection of cereals, fruit and a hot option too.  The only downside, if any, is that it is a little further from the train station than we had hoped, so you have to rely on taxis to get you around if you don't have a car.  All in all, however, the property was perfect for our stay and if we visit the area again, we will definitely stay at Vicarsford Lodge.  Thank you Audrey and Alex.

Comfortable and welcoming

Arrived here expecting to have a good stay at a 4 star guest house. Room we were shown to was cold and bedding was damp. Light in bathroom also constantly flickered and there was evidence of damp. When we queried these problems, owner was less than happy and called her son who on arrival told us to leave (something we'd already decided to do). He was aggressive and insulting. My wife and I were pretty shook up. Expedia have since promised to refund the cost of the stay and investigate further. Reading previous reviews there is an almost exact replica of our experience two years ago. Mystery for me is how they got the rating or the other reviews I read before booking?

Worst experience I've ever had

We stayed here for a couple of nights to get to the golf at St. Andrews .  The location is very quiet but only a short car distance from St. Andrews .  The accommodation was comfortable but very dated.  Our room could have slept three and had a large en-suite bathroom which only had a very small shower over the bath.  The shower pressure was also quite poor. The hosts were very accommodating and had lots of local knowledge. The WiFi was practically non existent but this could have been because of the remote location.  We probably wouldn’t stay here again as we like to be right in the centre of St. Andrews so we can walk to all the amenities .

Quiet Location

We feel so fortunate that we were able to stay with Audrey and Ian in their lovely home. It was a last minute booking as the place in St Michaels that was booked for us was not to our liking. The house is immaculate and so welcoming. Audrey offered is homemade cake in her kitchen. If we had been able to stay longer, i would have loved to go golfing with Ian. I hear he is a legend! Thanks again.

Scottish Hospitality on display!

My husband and I stayed one night at the Vicarsford Lodge near St Michaels, Scotland. There is plenty of parking right outside the front door of this lovely country home, which is a short drive from either St Andrews or Dundee. Audrey and her son, Ian, were gracious and helpful hosts as evidenced by the fact that Ian helped my husband get a tee time at Scotscraig and even loaned him some equipment. Our room was spacious with a comfortable king size bed and an ensuite bath. We enjoyed a cooked to order breakfast in the morning with homemade jams.

A few weeks ago we were fortunate to spend a night at Vicarsford Lodge Guest House. What a wonderful find! The beautifully decorated large bedroom and luxurious bathroom, beautiful view of the fields and quiet location made our stay perfect. The bed was extremely comfortable and in the morning Audrey greeted us with a delicious homemade breakfast of our choice. With all the special finishing touches to add to one’s comfort, I would absolutely recommend Vicarsford lodge Guest House!
