The best thing about this hotel is the staff who are a credit to the business, couldn’t be more friendly and more helpful. 

Unfortunately the hotel is very loud, the floors are all wooden so every footstep creaks, and the walls are incredibly thin so expect to hear your neighbours. Anyone walking past your room will disturb you.

Thankfully it is fairly clean but the rooms are old, no plugs next to the bed so could be modernised and brought into line with others. 

Not the worst I’ve stayed in but there are better Premier Inn hotels out there. As mentioned, the staff were the highlight of staying here.

Average rooms that need updating

I have stayed at premier inn on 100 occasions and I’m never disappointed. The hotel was in a lovely location, clean and quiet. There was no problem with parking… staff was welcoming and friendly. Recommend.

Romantic trip

The location of the hotel was excellent for our stay near Fareham. Close to the M27 but very quiet. Rooms clean and tidy,  as expected, with comfortable beds. Choice of breakfast is always welcome and food is very well presented. We will return.

A great place to stay

I booked PI for our Christmas visit to my aging parents. We have never done this before but wanted to take the pressure off them. I couldn’t praise the PI staff at Fareham more. They were friendly and very helpful. Not at all bitter that they were working whilst we could enjoy our Christmas. We had a hand written Christmas card and a chocolate bar in our room on arrival. It was a perfect arrangement to make the Christmas weekend a comfortable occasion. 

Christmas stay

I booked in to stay here on Boxing Day after a busy day visiting my parents who live in the area, I literally wanted something cheap and cheerful and was pleasantly surprised with the service and quality we received. 

We had a family room for myself and my three children, the bed were all super comfy and the room was lovely and warm. We all slept really well and didn’t hear any noise overnight - even from upstairs (we were ground floor). 

We had breakfast the next morning and this really was standout, they had such a HUGE selection of things, both continental and cooked, if you have fussy eaters there was something for everyone. The cooked was laid out buffet style but with the chef right there and it was all warm and fresh (not always the case with a buffet). Lots of staff refreshing drinks and offering assistance.

I was expecting to pay between £30/40 for the breakfast but was surprised to learn that the kids are free! Fantastic value.

Overall we really enjoyed staying and had such a restful night, I would definitely stay with premier inn again over something cheaper like travel lodge the difference in quality was huge.

A lovely Christmas stay!

Excellent comfortable stay ,staff friendly couldn’t do enough for us ,we had an excellent nice hot cooked breakfast best we’ve had nice choice ,easy to park plenty of spaces,we were here for a family party

Hotel staff were helpful and friendly, the room was clean but the hotel was showing its sign of age and it needs a full upgrade before I could recommend it. I have previously used Premier Inn in other areas and found them to be excellent, a shame this was not so on this occasion 

Dissapopinted

Charles and Eve, front of house managers - extremely friendly and helpful; The whole place was very comfortable and clean; No restaurant but a TGI Friday a few yards away; Excellent breakfast run by a great chef; It was a business trip, I had never been there before but I would go back without hesitation to visit the area; Beds perhaps a little small (I am quite tall), and I am not keen on the centralised booking service. Other than those very minor points, it was a great experience. 

Premier Inn Fareham

I want to start by saying that as a family we love Premier Inn! We’ve used them many times in the past and have future bookings with them. This is the first time ever! That I have left feeling tired and quite disappointed.

We arrived in our room and the heat just hit us. We checked the thermostat on the wall and it said 25°. We had a little fiddle about with it to see if we could lower the temperature and in the end spoke to the reception team. The team member asked if there was a fan in our room? And told us to use it as there was no way to adjust the temperature. The heat gave me the most horrendous headache. The room was stuffy and we soon noticed it smelt quite damp. We opened the window right up and went out for some tea at TGI Fridays.

When we returned I put my daughter in the bath and it became apparent where the smell was coming from. The ceiling was black with mould! 

That first night was probably the worst we’d had (until our 2nd night!). The room was so hot it was uncomfortable.

We had breakfast the next day which was fab! The chef was lovely and very accommodating and the food was great! On the way out we asked if could have some more towels as we only had 2 in our room - we were told that our room would be serviced and we would have some towels dropped off at the same time. Great.

We came back to our room after meeting family that had arrived to the hotel and the room had not been serviced and we’d not had any towels dropped in. My Sister was in the room next door so we knocked on and pinched  a towel from her. No big deal.. but a little annoying.

We went to a family party that night, and we’d left the window open to try and help with the smell of damp and we’d borrowed an extra fan. We came back into the room and it was stifling! We got into bed and shortly after 01:00 a car alarm was going off outside our bedroom window and this continued (on and off) for over 2 hours! We had no choice but to close the window as it was waking our little girl up - we had a 5.5hour journey home in the morning so we needed her to sleep well! This was THE worst night sleep we’ve ever had in any premier inn!

In the morning we went for breakfast again - which again was amazing! We got talking to some other guests and they too said how hot and uncomfortable their night had been.

We have completed an online form and requested contact from the guest service team  but we’ve not had any response. Despite being told that we would be contacted within 10 days.

Very disappointed and not the customer service we expect from the Premier Inn.

Hot, stuffy room & a mouldy bathroom!

I picked a Premier Inn as you always get the same standard and friendliness. Unfortunately this was a let down. The room was opposite the stair way so I heard the noise of the door all evening. The bathroom paint was worn and falling off. The tea mug was dirty and had left over noddles from a previous persons stay. The hotel room was far too hot and wouldn't go down from around 25 degrees, even with the window open. The air con didn't work hence the lack of sleep. The duvet was too heavy and thick for a room of that temperature and the cleanliness of the room in general was poor. There was rarely someone on reception, so I couldn't discuss these issues with them.
