This is the perfect place to stay at. It is very well designed with large and comfortable bedrooms with ensuite baths. The breakfast is prepared as you wish in the morning with fresh and locally sourced ingredients. The hostess is a wonderful person and provides outstanding recommendations on restaurants.

The perfect british B&B

The hostess, Bridgett, is absolutely amazing. She is a perfectionist  —her home is beautiful and meticulous. The breakfast is delicious and high- quality.

The guest rooms are charming and very comfortable. The bathrooms are freshly updated with the highest quality of fit and finish.

Overall a highly authentic Cotswolds experience.

Authentic Cotswold Experience

We had a great two night stay at the Old Kiln House. Bridget was an amazing host who made us feel comfortable as soon as we arrived. She also gave us great recommendations for local restaurants and neighboring towns to visit while in the area. Speaking of which, the Old Kiln House is a great base location for exploring the Cotswolds. 

Our room was amazing, as was the entire property. The old barn has been transformed into a lovely BNB, and our room was large, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Breakfast in the morning was made to order and delicious. A stay here is highly recommended!

Wonderful stay at the Old Kiln House

The Old Kiln House is a picture perfect bed-and-breakfast for an idyllic weekend in the Cotswolds. It's conveniently located to see iconic Cotswold villages and world class cuisine like Daylesford Organic Farm and The Wild Rabbit. Bridget was such a lovely, welcoming hostess (and a fantastic cook)! She was very communicative and gave us a great plan for the day, which allowed us to drive down a convenient route and experience the Cotswolds in a day, starting at Shipston-on-Stour. If you're new to the Cotswolds it's a great way to experience it because there's nothing like hearing from a local, and if you're looking for a getaway you couldn't ask for a more perfect marriage of luxurious accommodation with a historical, romantic cottage. Our room perfectly matched the description and the effect was frankly more impressive in person. The bed was so comfortable I was dreaming of it for the rest of our tour of the UK! Quite frankly have nothing negative to stay. Don't hesitate to book, you won't regret it. 

The perfect spot to see the Cotswolds & beautiful luxury with welcoming hostess

Extremely well situated in the heart of Shipston on Stour, with good choices for evening dining a short walk away. 
A beautifully furnished characterful home with a delightful courtyard garden. You get a warm welcome from Bridget; she is happy to help with your plans and her breakfasts are excellent. Very large and comfortable bed in the opulent  Westminster room.

Couldn't get much better.

Lovely guest house tucked away in the centre of town, beautifully appointed with comfortable, spacious bedrooms.  Breakfast was excellent, offering pretty much anything you fancy! Bridget is a lovely host and very accommodating. Highly recommended!

Lovely house in Central location.

A beautiful peaceful venue with a lovely informative host, Bridget. Unfortunately we never had the opportunity to meet Patrick.  I had communicated with Bridget several times before our arrival and she was warm and filled with wonderfully helpful suggestions before and during our stay.  Our room was stunning, large, comfortable and extremely tasteful. There is beautiful artwork everywhere in the bed and breakfast.  Bridget helped us carry our bags up and down a flight of stairs when we arrived and departed.  There is coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cookies/biscuits and an electric kettle to heat up water. There is bottled water in a small and welcomed fridge where we were able to store some fruit as well.  The bathroom has a large walk-in shower with large containers of high quality shampoo, conditioner and body wash, excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water.  There is a lovely courtyard leading to the door of the bed and breakfast and another area with a large table if you wish to eat outdoors.  Bridget supplied us with plates and utensils where we had our last dinner in the small flower-filled courtyard with a fountain. Breakfasts were excellent with choices of a full English breakfast with lean pork and leek sausages, bacon, eggs fried, scrambled or poached, home made whole grain bread, and fresh fruit and yogurt available. Smoked salmon was also available as well as mushrooms, tomato and omelettes.  Bridget was very informed about American politics and we had a lively conversation together.  She is available to converse with, but certainly never overly involved.  Her recommendations were welcomed, particularly letting us know about places I hadn't discovered in my trip planning such as Compton Verney.  Shipston-on-Stour is extremely well located in order to visit Stratford-upon-Avon, Broadway, Hidcote Gardens, Chipping Camden, Moreton-in Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water and much less crowded than these villages.  

Elegant an welcoming

The nicest & most luxurious B & B we’ve ever stayed at!  Beautiful period home with gorgeous rooms - the latest modern conveniences but with  fabulous beamed ceilings. Gourmet breakfasts and great advice about sights to see in the Cotswolds. 

Nicest B&B in the Cotswolds

We chose the venue for a quick weekend getaway with the in-laws. When we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome by our host, Brigitte. In fact, we couldn't have asked for a more caring, efficient or engaging host. She is also an extremely talented cook! We enjoyed hearty breakfasts (full English/smoked salmon and scrambled eggs - an omelette option is also available), with homemade bread and jams, accompanied by freshly ground coffee. The property is located near local pubs and shops. There are also some nice walks nearby. The property itself was warm, cosy and very tastefully decorated. The rooms, bathrooms and indeed the entire home were exceptionally clean. The bedding was luxurious and each room contained king-sized beds with comfortable, Sealy mattresses. Similarly, the bathrooms were equipped with Burlington fixtures. Clearly, this was no "normal B&B experience" and there seemed to be no compromise in providing luxury and comfort for guests. I could keep going (log fires, filtered water by the bedside etc), but essentially - it truly did feel like staying at a luxury boutique hotel instead of a B&B. Kudos to Brigitte for running such a spectacular guest-focused experience. I recommend The Old Kiln House Bed and Breakfast highly, and needless to say, we will be visiting again!

The Perfect B&B Experience

I lived in Shipston as a child! This place is a beautiful oasis. The room was clean, comfortable & there were nice touches including toiletries. Breakfast was gorgeous I particularly liked the homemade bread & preserves! Bridget is a thoughtful, welcoming host. Thoroughly recommend
