It’s a wonderful place stayed a year ago and booked straight away for this year.  We arrived and the lodge we booked was not available and they had nothing else for us.  

They said they told Hoseasons, their booking agents, the day before to relocate us but we knew nothing till we were on the ferry.  It was a nightmare, holiday with our family who had booked another lodge completely destroyed.  We came home as soon as a ferry was available and we are still traumatised now.

We did receive our money back from Hoseasons but we lost travel and ferry costs.  The site operators, Darwin Escapes, did not want to know.  I got the strong impression they really didn’t care. 

I had rang the site the day before to check everything as OK but they didn’t tell me what had happened or we wouldn’t have travelled.  Apparently they knew that the lodge had been out of action for weeks but didn’t do anything about it. 

Appalling customer service.

Darwin Escapes nightmare when things go wrong.

We had a fantastic time here! From the beautiful cabin to the lovely hot tub, this retreat is everything we needed this year. The cabin was spacious and comfortable with a good powerful shower, and the hot water in the tub was perfect. The kitchen also had everything we needed to cook our meals for a week plus a dishwasher and washing machine. 
TV was good and we bought our Firestick with us to watch our fave programmes. We were in the hot tub every night it was so lush and relaxing. Great for tired muscles! 
We had the pleasure of meeting Shane at the bar, who was a great guy and gave us some valuable advice on the local area. Catherine at reception was also incredibly efficient, quickly changing us to a beautiful lodge when we found the treehouse we were previously in (which was just as nice) a bit too small for us for the week. We were so worried about asking but she was so friendly and helpful made the process a breeze.
The local area is stunning, and we're hoping to come back for New Year's Eve to watch the fireworks over the Solent! We highly recommend Woodside Bay and will definitely be making it a yearly retreat. We had peace, comfort, fun and all in a beautiful location. Can’t wait to return! 5 stars all round 🌟 PS. look out for the friendly resident cat!

Warm comfortable lodge with everything you need, clean and tidy, great views over the Solent whilst sat in the hot tub , pet friendly, staff were friendly and helpful, a good base to explore the Isle of Wight,  always my acid test would I stay again? Absolutely yes

A very enjoyable break. Staff were extremely  helpful and very attentive and couldn’t do enough to help us. Beautiful views. This lodge was stunning, perfect position, clean, very comfortable and everything there you needed. Highly recommend Woodside coastal retreat. 

Just beautiful 

Amazing 2 weeks family holiday as always,
We like Lodge 19 as the parking is beside the lodge ideal for our disabled son.
Reception staff always pleasant and welcoming, take over is 4pm so we have our grocery delivery for later that evening most of the supermarkets will deliver on the site which is ideal.
The lodge has three bedrooms one is ensuite. Lovey family bathroom with bath.
Kitchen/ Lounge is open plan and well equipped with everything you could need.
We love just watching the cruise ships sail by.
This is our third holiday this year to this site our 7th week it’s just a home from home.
The beach is perfect and quiet.
If your looking for a holiday with loads to do on site this isn’t for you, this is a retreat, quiet relaxing and perfect for filling your days chilling and recharging.

The site is very well maintained.
There is no reason for anyone to complain about things not working as the service on site is second to none. 
We were missing a mop bucket, we like to mop up after our son gets out the hot tub within minutes one had arrived.

Fantastic holiday, on a first class site

Woodside Coastal Retreat is ideally located for exploring the island. We decided to visit on a weekend away for my wife's birthday.

The lodge was clean and had all the required amenities. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for us all. The hot tub was amazing and private. We found the park to be quiet. Staff were friendly and accommodating. It was lovely to wake up to the view across the solent each morning.

It's only lost 1 star because the lodge we had was looking a little dated and could do with some TLC. Kitchen cupboards were peeling and the shower controls not functioning well.

Other than that, we'd stay here again.

An enjoyable weekend away.

We had a lovely stay at Woodside Costal Retreat this week! The perfect size lodge with 4 beds and 3 bathrooms for two families! Cleaned to a very high standard with luxury furniture and everything you need and can't forget to mention the spectacular view towards the sea! Really nice and quiet for perfect relaxation 😊 Reception staff were very friendly and helpful,not only reception but all the staff we met! We had the opportunity to speak to the General Manager, Ian Hingly, who is very positive and professional person, really helpful and friendly, too! 
Thank you all for the lovely holiday, We can't recommend it enough and will definitely be back!

Family Holiday

Used to be great. Not anymore. Visited for 3rd time and I feel so let down. It feels like nobody cares there. Dirty, unkempt and unloved. Staff were friendly enough but you can tell they didn't care. We had to report our issues on consecutive days and still weren't dealt with. 'Manager' ian was different from the woman on our last 2 visits. He seemed way out of his depth. I actually doubt he was the manager he was dressed in the same uniform the hot tub cleaners were wearing. They only came on the day we left to drain the hot tub. No other checks. All has been reported to head office and I was offered a lousy 10% refund. Save your money and book somewhere that respects their guests enough to at least clean the lodge prior to arrival 

Gone downhill

We enjoyed our stay at Woodside very much .The lodge was very comfortable and staff helpful .I needed a separate toaster as I am celiac and one was quickly provided . Our only dissapointment was the restaurant being closed and the bar on Tuesday and Wednesday

Received a call the day before arrival for my Car Reg number and give me check in times 4pm
Arrived after having a call 3 hours early to tell me that my accommodation was ready. 
On picking my keys up they informed us that the bar and bistro was closed Tuesday and Wednesday due to going into low season, something they failed to tell us on Sunday. Remember this is a “self catering” break. 
So unpacking, we had to wipe out cupboards. The problem arose at night when we decided to cook. The oven was disgraceful, full of grease and untouched.  This is a “self catering” break, the cooker etc should have been gleaming. So much for the cleaning contractor “Top Mops” absolutely clueless and unchecked lodges.
