Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Only issue we had was a toilet that wouldn't flush, but that was soon resolved. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The room itself was clean, and spacious. We had a great trip. Many thanks.

Great Service

Basic hotel with comfy beds🛏 , good pressure shower 🚿 and friendly staff.
Fifteen to twenty minute walk into central Reading and rail station. A shuttle bus runs from there to the Madjeski stadium on match days.
Nice breakfast 🥣, all things considered, a bargain 👍

Comfy bed, nice staff

Came with the family and we loved our stay. Staff were friendly, food delicious - no complaints!
Looking at most negative comments, a lot are over exaggerated and find it hard to agree for most.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights because it was a few hundred metres from a friend of ours. 

Whilst the location was convenient, the room was pretty poor. We had asked for a family room, with a double bed and two singles. The pictures looked lovely on the website. 

However, what we got was a room for 3 that had an extra bed squeezed in, so no table, no room to get round the end of the bed, etc. Very uncomfy for a family. Also, curtains that didn’t shut and a bathroom with no space to even dry in. 

The room was also shabby and tired, and the hallways were rather stale smelling. 

Also several broken floorboards in the hallways so I fell over at least once. 

The staff were nice enough, but the hotel is about 2 decades overdue for a renovation.

Given it was about double the price of a premier inn, and at least half the quality, I won’t be going again. 

Disappointing, for the price

Car park:

Not the largest, but adequate. It’s a fair walk into town but there is a beefeater about a 5 min walk away. It’s usually quite busy in there so I’d advise booking if there’s a few of you

Rooms:

Clean and tidy, not the biggest but suffice. Plenty of hot water, hairdryer, iron and tea/coffee making facilities. Although the heating isn’t on for long really, did find it a little cold

Didn’t have breakfast here so cannot comment on it. Overall not a bad stay for the price, staff are friendly and polite.

Clean rooms 

Very happy with service given from staff from the time arrived to the time i left. Price is very good value. Clean and tidy, had all amenities.Will recommend and come back and use again. Very helpfull when booked over phone again for another room.

Work visit

What great Value for £45 a night including a wonderful breakfast. 
I've read some other negative reviews but can not agree with them at all.
My experience was just great. 
Nice and clean and the staff very helpful. 
I'll be back... sort of says it all. 


Great value for money snd the Staff were great. 

The Bath is on a main road with a bus stop outside (3 buses stop here) and is convenient to the city centre. It is very much a 'van man' hotel. Did not have brekkie so can not comment.  Built in 1892, the Bath is Victorian with heavy carpets and drapes, stained glass windows, twisty stairs and halls and doors to nowhere. The rooms are very small and the décor is dated - 1980s, 1990s and needs doing over.  We stayed in 3 rooms, as we had to keep moving rooms due to a succession of problems that were resolved. The staff do their best, especially the evening porter from Mauritius. As others have mentioned the heating is sporadic - very sporadic!

Old-fashioned keys, old-fashioned hotel.

I stayed for one night while attending a festival. I was disappointed by the lack of interest when booking in. My room on first appearance looked alright. I went to shower and moved the towel to be faced with a dirty shower area which some of whaling the towel picked up.  There was mold in the bathroom. I managed 4 hrs sleep due to the room next door being noisy. There was noone at reception when we went to check out so couldn't speak with management to advise them. See photos. I left knackered and annoyed.

One night stay

Staff are rude !! 
Try and get you to fill out your debit card details and security code !! On arrival even when you have paid in full! 
Strong smell of cannabis in reception area! And along the corridors! 
The bedrooms are dirty , mould around windows , dirty shower trays and towels !
Noisy rowdy drunk guests !
Not worth the money - book somewhere else !! 
No one to speak to when checking out 
Think twice before spending money here 
They should be shut down !
