Stayed here just for one night and it was perfect for attending a wedding at Loch Green. 

Host was so friendly,bubbly and welcoming.

Rooms were HUGE , very clean and cosy. Tea and coffee facilities were great too.

A little old fashioned decor in bathroom but can tell the whole place is being updated and worked on with love.

Would recommend this to anyone.

Brilliant B&B with a lovely host

Fantastic B&B, Elaine and Peter were so welcoming, they upgraded us to the stables cottage (having booked a family room), and it was brilliant for our needs with the children.  Absolutely lovely place and would definitely return.

The home is BEAUTIFUL!! The grounds are BEAUTIFUL!! The breakfasts are exceptional!! Elaine and Peter are the warmest friendliest owners!! They really are like family! All of the rooms are more than comfortable … Some of the rooms are ENORMOUS!! 
Rent the whole house for a "Home Base" on a west coast of Scotland golf tour or west coast of Scotland exploration and Castle tour. Royal Troon golf course is literally across the rail tracks. Turnberry golf course is 35 minutes south and Prestwick golf club (home to the very first Open Championship) is 10 minutes away.
We love this place as it feels like home and we will be back. Thank you Elaine and Peter !!

Sandhill ... Our Home Away from Home

Stayed here as we were attending a wedding at Lochgreen Hotel which is 5 minutes up the road Fantastic b and b, the hosts are lovely, the bedroom was huge big double bed and 2 single beds, huge bathroom, breakfast was amazing all fresh good quality ingredients, loved our visit and will definitely be back, we will take our dog next time as they are welcome too, Duke the lama and Muppet the wee horse are adorable.

This is not the first time I have stayed in Sandhill House and it won’t be the last! What an amazing experience. Elaine & Peter are so welcoming. I stayed in the La Roche room which was like a suite you would get in a 5*hotel. Breakfast was fantastic. Everything was just perfect. Thank you!

Definitely one of the best B&B’s ever!

Just returned home having spent an absolutely fantastic time staying here for the past 3 nights. Stunning building and location - by far and away one of the best places we have stayed. Warmly greeted on arrival by Elaine who gave us some history of Sandhill House which proved extremely interesting. The room we were provided with was beautifully appointed and supplied with lovely biscuits and a selection of beverages. Extremely comfy beds ensured a good nights sleep. Superb breakfast with delicious fresh fruit on offer as well as the usual cereals and yoghurts. Elaine provided fresh croissants to start of with followed by a full cooked breakfast - again beautifully prepared. We worked off some of this on a couple of bikes provided and had a run down the cycle path to Troon. Although Sandhill is outside Troon, taxi service is easy and quick to get into town. Stay was enlivened by meeting Duke the alpaca along with his friend Muppet the Shetland Pony. Visiting heron provided entertainment at breakfast too.
We will definitely be back - this is how all places, hotels included, should be run!

Totally superb all round

If the definition of perfection is 'That which cannot be improved upon', Sandhill House meets that criteria.  The setting, room, breakfast, conviviality of the owners and overall feeling of relaxation could not have been bettered.  This is a MUST visit again.

Perfection

Our stay at Sandhill House exceeded our every expectation --  the property's enchanting gardens and five-star accommodations, the impressive and delicious breakfast menu offered, and the close proximity to the Royal Troon Golf Course and the Town of Troon. Our hosts Elaine and Peter excelled at delivering excellent customer service. We felt like special guests within their beautiful establishment. We can't wait to return.

Top Notch Destination

Just spent two nights here. We were lucky enough to have the Donovan suite, named not after the singer, but one of the Duke of Portland's racehorses.  Lovely house, fantastic ground and a great welcome and breakfasts provided by Elaine. Thoroughly recommend.

Fabulous

Spent three nights at Sandhill House last week with the family (my other and better half, two teenage kids and Molly, our dog).  Loved it !  Elaine, the host was lovely / personable and welcomed us upon arrival.  The room (Donavan suite) was great with a double and single bed in the main room and a single bed in the smaller room with a large en suite bathroom.  Breakfast was gorgeous / varied and as good as we've had anywhere, whilst Elaine went out of her way to provide avocado / oat milk for our daughter who's vegan.  Grounds are lovely with a donkey and alpaca (named Gerald by our son) in the field across from the house.  Magic!
