Lovely hotel been a couple of times also stayed in a big chain hotel but wouldn't use them again. We were in room 18 a big room with ensuite and also a bath in the room. Couldn't fault anything lovely and clean, comfortable and a lovely breakfast with quite a lot to choose from.

Excellent stay

Great place to stay you don't need more than they offer breakfast was great  and staff were lovely,  it's not a looker from the outside, but lively pub and all you need inside parking tad hard to find until you find it than you wonder how you missed it

Central with parking what more do you need

Me and my partner had the best couple of days here. The staff, the room, the food and the bar all amazing. The beds were like sleeping on a cloud. We had a bath in the bedroom, we found that a nice little touch. The service was fast and do not get me started on the cocktails..wow! Highly recommend a stay here.

Lovely hotel

Fabulous hotel with very friendly and efficient staff. Great rooms, with excellent facilities, local for all amenities and a great bar area with a good choice of food and drink. Excellent place to stay and would definitely recommend to others.

Awesome Hotel and Staff

The Lounge Hotel is situated in the centre of town with a car park accessible from the street at the back. NB that you need to register your car on arrival, but the young lady who checked us in asked for the details anyway.

Our room (no 9) is described by Booking.com as a De Luxe Double, but I’m not really sure what that means, as it is a pretty ordinary room with plain walls (not a single picture) minimal furniture and a skylight as the only window. It is clean and comfortable however and the en-suite is roomy and nicely done, apart from having an over the bath shower.

Downstairs there is a smart and clearly popular bar, although as I am more a “local pub” sort of bloke we didn’t try it.

Breakfast in the Lounge (I do find this a strange name for a hotel) was excellent. Karen had scrambled eggs with rather too much smoked salmon, while I had a Full Cumbrian which had top quality ingredients and was all perfectly cooked. It was also rather substantial and if we were staying longer I’d pick and mix.

There is no doubt that the Lounge is a smart bar cum hotel that aims for the higher end of the market, and while I think they could do more with the room we were in, all the bedding, towels etc are of high quality and it certainly represents very good value. Service was friendly and efficient throughout, and the gentleman who was cleaning the rooms even offered to carry our bags to the car park. We declined - but what a lovely offer.

We would happily use this hotel again, but I would probably research options for a bigger and better room.

Smart hotel bar in an ideal location.

We stayed at the lounge bar on our way to Cornwall from Scotland and it turned out to be a good choice.
The hotel is competitively priced nice rooms and a lively bar. Food was available at the bar but also at many other places in the town. 
The room was a good size with a nice bathroom , the only thing lacking was a window as it only had a roof skylight so felt a bit cell like.
It was a quiet room with a large comfortable bed, breakfast was included and was the best cooked breakfast I’ve had in a long while, it was obvious the chef took pride in his work. 
I plan to stop here again and next time I’ll eat at the bar as I’m confident his evening meals will be as good as his breakfast.

Wonderful over night stay at the Lounge Hotel. 
Friendly super helpful staff, food was outstanding both breakfast and our evening meal we couldn’t fault it. 
We booked an apartment and we were more than happy with it. Would be happy to recommend it and will definitely be returning.

Amazing service, fabulous food and a wonderful atmosphere. 

We booked our table from  1300hrs until 1900hrs. 

Our Amazing friend Carol is dying from pancreatic cancer and the team have and were so supportive. They surprised Carol with a lovely bunch of flowers. 

The food was amazing, the service was outstanding and the company was amazing 👏 

Ladies Who Lunch

We stayed in the annex apartment of the hotel and it was really quiet and had it's own kitchenet. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the breakfast was lovely. Only downside was that one of the double beds was in the living room.

great stay for a group of friends

This was our second stay at this hotel. What an awesome place we love it. The rooms are immaculate the staff can’t do enough for and the breakfast was top drawer with plenty of choice they even cooked something for me that wasn’t on the menu. We had evening meal too which was gorgeous. And the cocktail bar has a lovely atmosphere with plenty of choices for drinks and cocktails. Although I would recommend booking a table in the bar as it does tend to get busy. But apart from that we can’t fault this little gem.
