We had a fantastic 5 night stay in Orchid lodge. It was very clean with everything you need for a self catering holiday. Very comfortable with excellent views of Cuan Sound whatever the weather. We were lucky enough to see seals, otters and a porpoise during our stay We were very lucky with the weather only the last day we had rain. The new owners were really friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We visited the Atlantic centre a couple of times, the owners and staff were all very friendly 
We will definitely be back for longer next time. Thank you all at Sunnybrae.

First Class stay, in a stunning location.

5 stars just isn't enough, bed is brilliant, kitchen well equipped, lounge is perfect but the views are out of this world. Myself and my partner and our little munchkin (dog) couldn't fault it. Totally awesome and wouldn't hesitate to come back. We've seen lots of wildlife, I've played the organ in the church and it's just been perfect. 

A total wow moment, with no hesitation in coming back. Worth way more than 5 stars!! 

We had a fabulous day exploring the stunning island of Luing with bikes hired from Sunnybrae. Mike was very helpful and friendly from when we first contacted him to book, through to returning the superb bikes at the end of a day of fun, beautiful scenery and a warm welcome in the post office shop. We would really recommend a visit!

Sunnybrae caravan park is an excellent place on the Isle of Luing South of Oban.
Fantastic views, very relaxing and lovely holiday for our family. The caravan is well equipped and a home away from home.
Watched ferry and trawlers moving around all day long, very close to the caravan park.
Mike the owner is so helpful and even got us fresh Languistines!

Fabulous place

We stayed here 2 years ago for New Year in Osprey lodge with other friends in the caravans, we enjoyed it so much we booked again for the following year .. this was Sadly cancelled due to the pandemic.
Mike held our booking and was very flexible and let us carry it over to following year.
We stayed in Gunnera lodge this time and it didn’t disappoint, everything provided and lovely and warm inside while the rain and wind blew outside we didn’t feel a thing .
This is a lovely quiet place you can watch the ever changing scenery from the window, read a book , watch TV or walk.
We hope to return again in the summer.

Sunnybrae is a small caravan site beside the waters edge with beautiful views out to sea. 
We stayed in a 4 berth caravan with a double and twin bedroom, the beds while narrow were extremely comfortable. 
The caravan was spotless and well equipped with cooking utensils, plates and cutlery, and a range of drinking glasses. 
Mike (the owner) gave us the option of bringing our own towels and pillows, which we did, but they were also available on the campsite. 
The caravan didn’t have a washing machine or tumble dryer, but both were available on site for a nominal fee, and the caravan had a small clothes airer which could be hung from a window to dry towels and swimming costumes.
There is no wifi on the site, so if you’re taking children download plenty of their favourite films and programmes onto their tablets or iPads. 
My phone had fairly good 3-4g reception, so I used it as a personal hotspot for my iPads wifi, and was able to stream some films for the grandkids, and to keep up with the news and football. For alternative entertainment there is a good selection of DVD’s you can borrow and watch, £5 for the week, and you can also hire bikes for travel around the Isle. 
There is a fairly well stocked local shop on the Isle of Luing, and you can pre-order freshly baked bread on Tuesdays and Fridays.
There is also a visitors centre which was open Wednesday-Sunday on the week we were there, and as well as having a small local artists gift selection, you can learn the Isles history and purchase good food and drinks. 
Everyone we met on the Isle was friendly and helpful. 
The Isle is reached by a small car ferry, and you pay for the car and per passenger, so it’s more economical to purchase a multi trip return ticket, rather than individual crossings.
We took our two grandchildren with us, aged 6 and 13 (both of whom love their phones and tablets)  and we had a ball, swimming in the sea, walking, spotting   wildlife, playing games and cooking together.  You can take up to two dogs, and next time we go we’ll definitely bring ours as they are welcome on the campsite and all over the island.

What can I say? Sunnybrae is a wee slice of heaven. Heather caravan was compact but perfect with everything I needed, and beautifully clean. The utensils and pots/ pans provided were good sizes, the knives were sharp too (these things are important to me as I love to cook). Everything you need - as others have said, there is one shop on the island with understandably limited choice, so stock up in a supermarket with all you need before coming and you’ll be good to go. 

Mike met me as I arrived at the site (very welcoming and personal touch) and helped me out with various bits of advice whilst there. I was on a solo trip for some introvert time (busy mum of 3!) and the Isle of Luing has been an absolute balm. Like all the caravans in the site, Heather looks out over the Cuan Sound and to wake up to that view every day was marvellous. It is the caravan that is least favourably positioned, and it still has a clear and soul-feeding view, so I can only imagine what the others’ views are like! 

Luing is a paradise of wildlife and slowed-down life. Cows across the road, who look at you with mild outrage and go their own pace thankyou very much, otters and birds to spot and, if you’re lucky, dolphins. I was out on my paddle board in Cullipool and there were dolphins at a distance behind me! Plenty of walks of all levels from your doorstep, the headland along from Sunnybrae is easily accessed and you’ll have an absorbing time beachcombing amongst the slate shores which give the Slate Islands their name. 

The site is small and efficiently run, no massive signs or bossy rules, and there’s an eco feel to it too with a compost bin and recycling easily available. 

The only slight niggle for me was the bed in the main room - quite hard to retire to after a lot of activity and not the comfiest, although I expect all caravan beds are like this to be fair. Bringing your own pillows will probably help. In any case, this certainly didn’t detract from a wonderful stay on a breathtaking wee island.

Perfection in a slice of paradise

If you want a really pleasant break from the hustle and bustle of life, look no further. This is a small, well tended and maintained caravan site with just 6 modern Willerby caravans and two lodges, all positioned so that each has an unobstructed view of Cuan Sound. Everything is provided to make your self catering stay as comfortable as possible. Cooker/Microwave/Fridge with small freezer compartment/TV with Freesat and DVD player. There is a vast array of DVDs available to choose from should you need to stay at 'base camp' for whatever reason. There are also washing and drying facilities on site. 
There is little traffic on the island, hence all roads are single track with passing places. There is an abundance of wildlife, including seals, otters, seabirds, pheasants, partridges, finches and thrushes. Cattle and sheep also roam loose (so keep the gates closed!!!) Waking up to nothing but the sound of birdsong is my idea of heaven.
There is one shop cum Post Office up the road in Cullipool and a Visitor Centre also which serves meals at certain times on certain days..
There is no Pub on the island so bring your favourite tipples with you! Sit out on the picnic bench by your caravan and enjoy the peace and quiet whilst watching the odd yacht sail by.
Mike and Jenn have created this fantastic little oasis of tranquillity which I'm sure most guests would want to return to.

Get away from it all

Sunnybrae is situated right on the waters edge with amazing views out to sea. The caravan was spotless and well equipped . I'm no walker but the hills around the site are an easy climb and the views are stunning. If you want to escape the rat race for a while this is the place to be!

"Superb"

Excellent location if you are looking for peace and quiet. Sunnybrae is located near to the ferry. We rented a caravan at the waters edge. The site is quite small but there are a mixture of caravans and lodges. The owners are perfect hosts and the accommodation is very clean with full services.  Luing Island is quite small but there is a post office / shop which is generally open most days between 11am and 4pm.  The ferry trip is quite short and Oban is on about 15 miles away.
There are several walks on the island and and the Atlantic Centre in Cullipool has a gift shop and cafe.
Sunnybrae is perfect for a relaxing holiday.
