I chose this bnb due to the pub having a good rating for the food, being in a countryside location and by all accounts breakfast being INCLUDED. 

The description is very misleading, it states “Lunch and Dinner are not included in the room rate”. This selection of wording would lead any reader to believe that breakfast IS included. Unfortunately we were completely denied breakfast at the property. When i asked why it wasnt included in the room rate, the manager or whoever it was didnt give me the owners number as requested and gave me a duff email address. 

For a £70, very bare room with noisy pipes and breakfast not to be included, we left feeling totally shafted.

We had heard very good reviews so as a family we looked forward 
to visiting which was last weekend. The restaurant is very modern and staff
were professional . However the food was not good. My wife had salmon which was overcooked and the broccoli was not cooked enough infact my wife couldn't cut it.
I had steak which was overcooked . I did not want to spoil a special occasion by complaining but with prices similar to London prices i expected much better.

Disappointing visit.

4 of us booked at 7.15pm on a Thursday night. It was pleasantly busy and staff were efficient especially with the Covid rules. We had a mixture of mains, I had the Greek Plate which was very good , the meat was so tasty. The others had Risotto and 2 steaks, all cooked perfectly and we would definitely return 

Couples Thurs Night Meal

We were enroute to Birmingham and came off the A14 after seeing a little sign on the roadside advertising this pub. We wanted lunch, so decided to give it a try. We were very happy, freshly cooked steak pie and chips, and fresh fish and chips. All cooked to order. Very tasty, and welcoming service.

Very nice meal at lunchtime.

Had an evening meal here on a Tuesday, found the staff very extremely helpful and delightful, atmosphere was good with a great crowd in the pub playing bar skittles and darts.
Meal itself was pretty average with most of my main meal and others being overlooked. The staters were good as well as the puddings, the servings were large.

Best pie in universe, bigger than a black hole and more dense, and the most glamorous landlady in the world! Garlic cheesy bread was delicious, lovely atmosphere and a nice dog called Molly. JUST COME TO THIS PUB NOW 👍

Pie night 

We visited on Wednesday Pie Night and enjoyed a fantastic dinner of HUGE tender steak and kidney pie, chunky chips and lovely crisp vegetables. The starters of beautiful homemade soup and smokies were equally delicious, washed down with lovely pints of session IPA. Great pub with nice banter in the bar. Definitely recommend it.

Excellent dinner

A perfect stay in both single room and family room. 
Even though the pub and b&b was closed over the Christmas period the landlords Sandy and Kev really helped to accommodate my extended family from Brazil by opening the b&b and with extra tea, coffee and everything they could wish for.

Good pub / B&B run by friendly and welcoming staff (I was sold the moment I saw they had Dortmunder Union on tap...)  The accommodation is in a separate building behind the pub, so very quiet.  The room was simple but clean, likewise for the ensuite.  Quite a bit of light in the morning, could perhaps do with thicker or blackout curtains.  No Wifi, but no big deal for us.  We enjoyed our evening meal in the pub which was plentiful and tasty.  Breakfast was full English, again nicely prepared, plus cereals and toast.  All in all a very good stay for the price; would come again.

Very nice village pub easy to find, friendly staff and service, good choice of sunday type meals and a great selection of draught beers. Outside garden lovely on a summer evening, reasonable price too! thank you
