Cathedral View Guest House

The location was perfect for the castle and cathedral. The area was full of great shops, cafe and pubs. Very quiet, pretty and safe. The staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly - thankyou. On the first night We had an issue with the radiator in our room which was resolved as soon as possible. Comfy bed nice linen, room looked freshly redecorated in lovely design.

We decided to book Cathedral View Guest House on the basis of the number of excellent Tripadvisor reviews. It fully lived up to them. We stayed in Room 3 which has a private bathroom but it is not en-suite. I saw a couple of reviews that were unhappy with this but it worked perfectly well for us. The welcome and service was five star and it has the added bonus of parking behind the building. You drive through an archway to get to the parking which looks tighter than it is. I got in without retracting the mirrors and was able to turn round once inside so I could drive straight out. 
It is aptly named "Cathedral View Guest House" as we could see the spires towering above the houses opposite, less than one minute walk to the cathedral entrance. It is located in the old part of the town, much of it having been originally constructed in the 11th Century. We very much enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return ourselves and recommend the guest house to you. A well deserved five stars.

Great stay again at Cathedral View.  This is the second time we've been (in the same room) and really enjoyed our time there.  The location is brilliant and whilst the car park can be tight it's such a bonus to have parking included.  Breakfast is always superb with nothing to fault at all.  The owners and staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble.  Comfy rooms with lots of storage and plenty of coffee/tea/milk and drinking water available.  Guest lounge is also a bonus.  Already booking our next stay!

This was our second time staying at the Cathedral Guest House and this was perfect again. The location is brilliant as it is at the top of Steep Hill and close to the cathedral. Our room was lovely and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and well cooked, everyone working there were very friendly and incredible helpful. We will definitely be returning again.

Fab stay at Catherdral View guesthouse. The position and location were excellent, right in town centre with our host being very friendly and knowledgable about the area. The room was exactly as described, well decorated with a lovely comfy bed, we had a nice hearty breakfast ready for the day ahead. I would thoroughly recommend and we will return ourselves.

Stayed for one night, room was comfortable, parking on site and the hosts were really friendly.
There is no separate reception, just called in at the dining room to check in and out.
The breakfast made to order was first class!

Cathedral View is ideally  situated on Eastgate, around the corner from the Cathedral and next to the cobbled main square. This had a variety of independent shops and cafes which were within easy reach. We loved our stay in the old quirky property. Our room was comfortable, very clean and supplied with bottled water and toiletries.  Guests can park at the rear of the house which is a great bonus. Breakfast had a varied choice and was delicious.  Added to that, our host Paul and all his staff were friendly and helpful. 

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cathedral view. Our room was very nice and we had a great bathroom with a massive walk-in shower. The breakfasts were great. We only had to walk out the door and we were in the centre of the old town. We had a really lovely weekend. 

We really enjoyed our stay at Cathedral View. It is a gem of a place stay with everything that you need for a visit to Lincoln. It is close enough to the cathedral to see, and also hear its chimes that are wonderfully atmospheric. 

We had a delicious breakfast each morning with plenty of choice. The room was very clean and well presented, and we slept well each night in a comfy bed.
This is our second stay at Cathedral View, having visited previously 10 years ago. 

Paul is still a brilliant host and we hope to see him again in another 10 years (but we enjoyed our time here so much that we think we will be back before then!)

The perfect location, right in the heart of the Cathedral and Castle area. Room and bathroom both spotless, fantastic breakfast and parking!  Will be back.  Can highly recommend the Thailand No. 1 restaurant and the Tapas place by the Castle/Cathedral square.

Atmospheric gem

This is our second stay here and we love it. Fantastic old building, really comfy beds for a good nights sleep. En suite is fine with a decent shower. Stand out breakfast, it is all good (we have tried it all) and top notch friendly staff, all this and parking too. This location is perfect, and Lincoln has so much to offer. Recommended for exploring this wonderful city.

2 day break

Great location, parking, clean and characterful rooms (bathroom room 3 just outside of the room but exclusive), really lovely breakfast and friendly hosts. Has a slight view of the cathedral despite our room not being sold as such, nice bonus :) First time not staying in a hotel and would rather stay somewhere like CV on any city break in future. A perfect stay for a very reasonable price.

Perfect for a weekend in Lincoln

Perfect location with parking in the centre of Lincoln, Paul And Christina are the perfect hosts. We had room 4 which had a lovely feature - a massive stone fireplace, the room faces onto the street with a view of the tops of the cathedral. The guest house is an historic building with a lot of character and beautiful decor throughout.
Parking can be a bit tight getting in and out of the street with a big car but achievable.
The breakfast menu is fabulous and covers every option and is plentiful. A perfect start to a day exploring Lincoln.
Minor issues were delivery vehicles in the street below with engines running early morning (Friday and Saturday) and an  exceptionally soft bed, which to be fair is a matter of preference. All in all a lovely short break well worth a booking. Will be back soon!
