Me and my husband,stayed at the farm BnB,for 5 days on a break from busy life in manchester.we were blown away by the nicest people ,who gave us a very warm welcome,we were made to feel like very special guests,with an enormous bed so comfortable,a lovely room in the very beutifull farm house,with original features,and charm,a real authentic taste of country life.we will definitely be visiting again, Dog friendly ,and a real experience of country living,the most amazing breakfast with locally sourced produce,and none of those awful sachets of milk,sugar etc.breakfast presentation is first class, China cups and plates,and breakfast freshly prepared our wonderful hosts Ann, and Stuart put on a barbecue,and Stuart cooking 5 Star food,all home cooked and prepared chicken,and the most amazing beef,home made salads,fresh asparagus,no kidding and home made ice cream.stuart is a talented chef,and I am telling everyone because it was excellent.our whole stay was amazing.love this place Hidden gem.

The farm BnB Aymestry,HR6 9ST

We booked at very short notice ,deciding it was convenient for meeting up with old friends in nearby Riverside restaurant . Failed to check reviews, big mistake . I can only endorse what others have written . We were told other guests were staying , they appeared more like friends and didn't join us at breakfast  . Ann is very pleasant but needs a reality check on what is expected by people paying for holiday B & B .  Our friends had the builders in otherwise we'd have decamped back to their house .

I too feel sad at having to write an unfavourable review, but the pleasant owners of this ' farm B and B' need another  dose of reality. The kitchen, which we passed through on entry, had suspect cloths lurking in the sink ; dirty dog bowls on the floor ; lovely dogs indeed, but the whole place stank strongly of animals. Room spacious but smell of soot from fireplace soon attacked my throat and eyes. Bed comfortable.  . But one 2 of the 4 pillows  ( I've leaned to check ) were yellow with sweat stains. Animal hairs  ( and a couple of long human ones ) embedded in the duvet . Removed what we could from the sheets . 
Shower hot, towels rough and a bit grey but nothing realy to worry about. .unlike the quantity of hairs and fluff that I cleared up from the bathroom floor. Heaven knows when it was last swept let alone mopped.
Couldn't face anything cooked in that kitchen. Cereal and toast fine,but orange juice in non too clean  jug was decidedly ' off' . Both our paper serviettes slightly stained and evidently been used before. 
Nice lady owner, but the cleaning has obviously become too much for her. ' Washed' bedding hanging all over. Dust and cobwebs on window ledges. 
Couldn't wait to get away from the overwhelming odour of dogs, lovely though they were. I don't understand the positive reviews written.

Unhygienic and untidy

I could not agree more with the trip report written on 29th March this year. Thank you for such an honest report. If I would have seen and read this before staying here, I would not have made the booking. These words are so true and reflect my recent experience. In fact I would say that this ‘accommodation’ is not fit and appropriate for paying guests. 

It was unkempt, untidy and unhygienic. As the previous report pointed out, after being shown into my room, I was advised to keep the door closed as the cat likes to use the bed. She even checked under the duvet to see if the cat was there. I didn’t take this seriously but on pulling the duvet there were cat hairs on the pillows and sheet… there were hairs in the bath, the shower area needs re-grouting and when lifting the towels twigs fell out…

The kitchen area was such a disgrace - as was the area outside at the back of the property. And after seeing the cat sat on the kitchen worktop whilst food was being prepared I decided that breakfast was completely out of the question.  

I was not made to feel welcome as a paying guest. I was not shown the ‘lounge’ area and although I could see in, it was clear that it was untidy and I’m assuming it was the owner using it all evening (who I never saw for the time I stayed). There was an overwhelming odour in the evening and I was told that they had ‘friends’ in the kitchen who were cooking so I went out for early dinner, cleaned the bedroom as best I could when I got back and left early in the morning – without breakfast. 

I’m left staggered and amazed with how unacceptable the ‘accommodation’ was on the evening I stayed and having read the previous report it seems it was not a unique experience.

worst B&B I have ever experienced...

I am very rarely critical but this place was a great disappointment after we had booked it on the basis of reviews on this site. There is tremendous potential for this to be a fantastic place to stay but on our visit it was dirty and smelt strongly of dogs!
Instead of the attractive entrance shown on the website , we were met by pots of dead plants including the Christmas tree, bins, and remnants of wood chopping! Entering through an untidy kitchen we went through to what should have been an impressive hallway with lovely old beams and heavy original wooden doors, however the rug was thick with dog hairs and smelt very strongly. There was dust and dog hairs in the corners and in the gaps between floorboards on the stairs. 
Thankfully our room was relatively clean and the bed was superbly comfortable, though again a few dog or cat hairs were evident, we were warned by the landlady to keep our door locked in case the cat came in! We were given fresh milk which was a nice touch though I was wot tried by the number and wiring of the extension cableS off which kettle and lights were run! The bathroom was huge with an enormous bath. There was a separate shower which had good water pressure but the grouting needed proper cleaning. Also either the drain was blocked or the waste pipe too small for the volume of water as the water didn't drain well and at one point I thought the shower tray would overflow! We were only given two towels, one bath sheet and one bath towel, no hand towel. They had clearly been dried 'over the range' as they were hard and scratchy, I had to ask for one to be changed as it had a black mark on them.
At breakfast in the morning, after a good nights sleep, we passed on the fruit compote and cereals as even though they looked good, the two cereal bowls were dirty. I had to ask for a clean serviette as the one put out was marked. The cooked breakfast was superb, and in that we were not disappointed. Lovely sausages and bacon from a local source and fresh eggs.  The two easy chairs in the dining room were covered in hairs and stains.
The hosts were lovely and friendly and I feel bad at giving their establishment a bad review, I have dogs myself and know how difficult it is to keep things clean and tidy, but I am not charging £65 a night for people to stay. A quick run over with a Hoover and a spray of a it freshener would have made all the difference!
